Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I love to entertain! This is the first Christmas since I lost my Mom so I am switching up the traditions and inviting everyone to my and my fiance’s house for Christmas Day night. We’re having a pot luck filled with fun and a secret Santa gift exchange! I’m really looking forward to it!

We made the mistake of telling our families that if we were in a house by Christmas, then we’d host. Gahh! I like to make sure that everyone has something that fits in with their idea of Christmas. My family always has Turkey, but my husband’s family doesn’t like turkey and barely tolerates it at Thanksgiving, so we’re going to have both turkey and ham! Yum!

And one way to be a courteous guest – offer to help with the dishes :)

We are hosting Christmas dinner this year as newlyweds in our first/new house. I love to host to justify buying new/cute serveware and decorations but it’s so much prep and clean-up work!

We’re going home to my parents place for the holidays.
I hosted Thanksgiving this year for the first time and everything went very smoothly because I had a very detailed timeline of when things needed to be in the oven, so everything made it to the table warm.

    Z ME!!!

The first time I stepped foot in a Z Gallerie store I almost died. It was AMAZING! I was so happy to have one nearby even before we bought our home, but unfortunately that branch closed down :-(

This holiday season my boyfriend and I will spend Christmas with our families… we may own our own house, but my mom already declared that if I don’t wake up at her house on Christmas morning all our gifts will be taken away haha.

As for entertaining, my best tip is to make sure you have a few candles lit to set the mood and ALWAYS have music playing to drown out any silence!

Z Me! We host parties as well as go to others. While I love to go to other homes for fun and food, I truly love to have folks to our home. I love, love doing all the prep work and all the cooking. My largest crowd was an open house for close to 200 folks! I was worn out after cooking for that one but it was a great time. Love these items from one of my favorite stores, Z Gallerie!

Z Me! We hosted Thanksgiving at our house, and (because J works on Christmas) our guests have invited me over for Christmas. It’s great to be surrounded by friends when you’re not able to be with your significant other. My best advice– be courteous and show up when you said you would. The hosts may have planned dinner for a certain time based on when you said you’d be there, so don’t show up two hours later! And, don’t show up empty-handed! Ask in advance if you can bring anything. If they say no, then bring flowers and some wine or beer.

I don’t think we could fit more than just the two of us in our 600 sq. ft. apartment so we’re crashing our parents and grandparents homes! Might change once we have enough space to hold everyone.

I’m stuck at the airport right now, trying to get back home from a long Thanksgiving weekend and of course I NEEDED to check YHL!

My husband and I just got married this summer so we’re making the rounds this Holiday season. We love to present our hosts with tins of candy that we whip up in our kitchen. This year we made Peppermint Bark and wrapped it with a huge bow and ornament for that extra touch. It’s a great gift because it allows us to share our candy making stories with the new in-laws while giving them a quick treat they can have on hand for all the other guests that follow.

We love to entertain, especially around the holidays! One of my favorite things to do is carry out a theme each year..this year I’ll be doing silver and white. I already have our 2 trees up with silver and white decorations and on Christmas day I love to have the table set complete with a festive silver and white centerpiece, pretty napkins, coordinating hand-made placecards and a signature drink!

I usually prefer to be a guest – much less stressful! Always offer to bring something to a party. If the hostess says she doesn’t need anything, bring a bottle of wine or flowers. If you’re staying overnight, ALWAYS clean up after yourself (including your dishes unless the hostess insists otherwise). Being courteous will ensure you’re invited again!
