Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

What fabulous prizes!! I prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house so that I can arrive fashionably late and leave when I wish.

I always bring a hostess gift which is most often a bottle of good wine.

Z ME!!! I love to entertain! Every weekend this month we are having family or friends visit from out of town. Our plan is to do a mini Christmas every weekend since we won’t be able to see them over Christmas (we are going to Mexico with my Hubby’s family!)

In fact I love to entertain so much my friend and I recently started a website with some great, easy recipies, entertaining advice, and other great tools when it comes to cooking and entertaining. It is still in its baby stages, but my friend and I are having a blast with it! Come to think of it, it was you guys that kind of inspired it!

My husband is due home from Iraq by Christmas Eve and we’ll be staying at home -just the four of us (including our dog, and bun in the oven)! He’s been deployed the past 2 Christmases, so I’ve never decorated the house! Any help is welcomed!

Z ME!! I love to entertain! Holidays, birthdays, no reason at all… We have a sweet little cottage but it’s at its best when it’s completely full of people! We will be spending Christmas at my sister’s (who is the ultimate hostess!) and I always bring desserts. I enjoy preparing desserts more than anything else and have pretty cake stands and trifle dishes that I pull out for particular special desserts like Carrot Cake and Chocolate Trifle. YUMMY!!

Actually, we finally have plans to entertain this year. We have a great room with a 23-foot ceiling, and for the last 6 years we’ve been in this new house, we’ve had a live Christmas tree, ranging anywhere from 15 to 20 feet tall, that we get from a friend’s property in Michigan’s beautiful “Up North”.

Hours of decorating, legions of needle scratches on my arms and face, and a sap-covered pair of shoes later, we’re the only ones that enjoy the stupid thing. I refuse to do this work anymore, so we all agreed that if the tree gets decorated, we will make our best effort to have a holiday gathering. I can’t wait!!!

We are hoping to have a small holiday party before the holidays (if we can get everything unpacked and put together in time!) I’m not usually a good hostess (I get frazzled easily, haha) but i really want to put my best foot forward!

I love to entertain! We don’t have any set party dates yet, but a trick I love to have up my sleeve is to have cookie dough made up in the fridge or freezer so when company comes by on short notice we can have fresh cookies made for all of us to enjoy. With my toaster/convection oven, it’s so quick to do.

Now that I’ve moved into my first house (with 3 other girls), I definitely want to entertain. We’re excited to make our place cozy and Christmas-y for the holiday season, starting with a real tree this week! We’ve already sent out the invitations for our Christmas treats exchange party. One thing I’ll be considering as I host this year is how others have made me feel welcome in their homes in the past. I want people to feel comfortable, welcome, and relaxed!

Z ME! I love to host and usually end up asking my close friends to chip in on bringing dishes to make my life less stressful and to make them feel like they are a part of the party/contributors. No. 1 Rule: always send people home with any leftovers around–the scale doesn’t like it when I have a house full of holiday food! but admittedly, it’s much more fun to “be hosted” and always try to bring a homemade gift.

I love to entertain, but it does take a lot of work. To cut down the amount of cooking and buying for parties, we host a “Wine-Off” every holiday season. We ask our guests to bring a cheap bottle of wine (<$15), we cover the labels with brown paper bags tied in ribbon, and then we all go around tasting and ranking them all on homemade scorecards. By the end of the night we crown a winner, but more importantly everyone learns at least 1 or 2 cheap wines that they enjoy drinking. What better way to taste wines than to share them with friends!

I plan on doing both–some entertaining at my house during December and a couple of parties as a guest with families and friends! As a hostess it is great when people actually RSVP so you aren’t worried about 1-no one showing or 2-not having enough food. As a guest I love to bring a little hostess gift and to make sure I clean up after myself/family/neighboring guests and at least OFFER to help with anything else!

I love to entertain for the holidays. One of our family traditions is to celebrate Christmas with my immediate family on Christmas eve; I’ve hosted this for the last four years. I always make a smorgasboard of finger foods, and everyone seems to love it. I try to introduce a new recipe or two each year, hanging on to those that seem to be favorites.

I have only tried entertaining once, and it was for Thanksgiving dinner that was a total failure. Rolls didn’t rise, ran out of propane halfway through cooking the turkey … the whole works. It was a disaster. Mom and dad ended up taking everyone out to a restaurant (thankfully we were having this on the Sunday after thanksgiving, or nothing would have been open!). So my rule is, make sure you have EVERYTHING you need, including propane!
