Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Z ME!!!!! Every year for the last 7 or 8 years I have a Christmas party where all the friends in my graduating class get together and catch up! I always decorate and have yummy food! This year I have 3 hurricane glasses that I filled with silver & white Christmas ornaments and snowflakes! They coordinate very well with the silver chargers on the table. I also do different sized clear goblets. Some are filled with snack foods such as nuts, candy, mints, etc. The others are filled with ornaments or clear ice cube like objects left over from Ryan and I’s wedding! I love the Holidays!

I won’t be entertaining this Christmas, but if I were, I’d make sure to have fresh flowers, festive and tasty treats…and good music. And of course decorations!

We are going to be the guests this holiday. Although, I am thinking about hosting a little get-together with some high school friends sometime around Christmas.

I think as long as you provide good food and drinks along with a bit of holiday atmosphere, the party will be a hit. Unless of course the people you invite are party poopers! Hehe.

Z ME!!!!!! I will be helping my mom entertain this Christmas at her home. We love setting out fresh holly, evergreen, and bayberry for the smell and natural feel it gives. Looks great on a mantle, around candles or as a center piece! Definitely always cooking tons of food – it’s all about eating at my house!

I am typically thrilled to host and entertain during the holidays (or year, for that matter) but because I’m involved in the joy and stress of planning my wedding, I am more than happy to attend others’ celebrations as a courteous guest this year. I’m always a fan of bringing wine to a party – the hostess gift that never goes out of style!

I’m hosting Christmas day this year. I learned my favorite tip hosting my first Thanksgiving last year – the night before, go to happy hour THEN prep the dishes. Yes, I’m dangerously dicing vegetables but man did it make prepping fun.

i love hosting parties, but I probably won’t this year, as I plan on going on vacation instead :) I overheard my parents discussing the idea that we should all get together and rent a big beach house and hide out there during Christmas, and that sounds like a good plan to me!

last christmas I invited a bunch of friends over and we all made cookies together, it was a lot of fun and something a little different than the norm :)

We hosted Thanksgiving so Christmas is all on my parents! One trick we use to make the holiday cooking a bit easier is starting a week ahead of time and make it all at your leisure. Then the day of you just have to throw things in the oven and enjoy your company!

I can’t wait to entertain, but this year, we will still be going over to the in laws. We’re in the process of building a house, so this time next year, you better believe I’ll be breaking out all the decorations (and snapping some up on post holiday sales) so I can be the one hosting. There will be pies, wine and cheese, and a cozy fire. A fire? Glad you asked: I’m going to have a mantel! It’s my dream come true. We had to pay more to add a fireplace to our house, but it’ll be so worth it when it comes to decorating. It really pulls a room together and creates a focual point other than a drab TV. That said, you should do a post on mantel decorating. Even though I’m excited, I’m seriously lost on how to do it. Hugs!

In order to be a gracious host, I let the spouse do the cooking, so as not to poison the guests. As a guest I offer to help in very specific ways: would you like me to carry the dishes back to the kitchen? That way the host can issue either a casual dismissal “no, sit, enjoy” or a specific counter-offer “no, but could you help me move the aside?”

I host Christmas Eve every year and I have two host-y tips:

    2. Please make sure there’s a lock on your bathroom door because nothing puts the fear of embarrassment in me more than being walked in on by someone I don’t know.

For the first time in a long time I’ll be a guest this Christmas instead of hosting. But when I’m hosting, I try to keep it simple and do as much as I can ahead of time. This way I can make my guests feel welcome and at home. Your guests will only be as comfortable as you are.

Z ME! I like being both a guest and a hostess! My way of being a good guest is to bring the hosts a good bottle of wine and if they don’t drink a nice candle is always nice. I always ask if help is needed in the kitchen when I arrive and I always stay and help clean up. I also love being a hostess. It gives me an excuse to use all my best linens, candles, and cute accessories from Z gallerie! Love Them!
