Fab Freebie: Got A Light?

We love giving away lamps, what can we say. So if you didn’t come out on top last week, here’s another shot at taking home a stylish piece of lighting for your home.

This week’s prize comes from The Shade Shop & Lighting Gallery located in nearby Charlottesville, Virginia. They offer a diverse and ever-changing gallery of table lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers, sconces, tables and (of course) lamp shades.  In fact, they’re brimming with excitement over the new line of Bunny Williams lamps that just arrived. Plus, the Shade Shop offers custom lampwork and repair, meaning if you want something unique they can make it AND they can fix it if you happen to break it.

But hopefully you’ll have trouble breaking the antique-nickel-clad Lucy Accent Lamp (valued at $298) that they’ve put up for grabs this week. Check it out below:

To enter to win just comment on this post with the words “GIMME A LIGHT” by Wednesday, March 4th at 8pm EST. And since this prize hails from my alma mater’s hometown, we’d love to hear what you loved most about your college hometown. I could go on and on about Charlottesville- after all it was once named the #1 place to live in the US. And we could probably name quite a few things we love about Sherry’s college town (NYC) too, considering it’s where we met. This prize can be shipped to the lower 48 United States and as always, only one entry per e-mail address is allowed. Good luck…

    Gimme a light!

It’s beautiful and would fit perfectly into our slowly coming together living room.

GIMME A LIGHT! My college hometown is Austin, Texas. There is so much I love about Austin. I love the diversity, the mild weather, the relaxed atmosphere, the greenness, the live music, great food, as a college student I loved 6th Street (think Bourbon St in NO), the eclectic shops, the houses in Tarrytown, the Capitol and Texas politics, the sprawl of the University, football games, the great location, sitting by the fountains and studying on a Spring day, Zilker Park, the bats, Mount Bonnell,…there are so many cool things about Austin. It is absolutely one of my favorite places ever.

    Gimme a light!

My hometown (for life, and for college) of Portland, OR rocks for reasons too innumerable for this space. Small town feel, big city culture. More books and bars per capita then anywhere else. Sweet lamp, thanks for the great giveaway.

    “Gimme a light!”

Go Aggies! College Station is growing at such a rapid rate I barely recognize it now which is good for all those students from Dallas and Houston that miss the big city, but bad for those who enjoyed life in the little bit slower lane.

    Yes, please! “Gimme a light!”

I went to Georgia State University in Atlanta. And it’s still my stomping grounds today. Though I hate the muggy sauna-like summers, I love the color- kaleidoscope-like springs.

GIMME A LIGHT! I went to TCU and I loved Fort Worth for many reasons. The thing I loved most was the city’s charm…or maybe it was the Campus Pub. : )

    GIMME A LIGHT! (pretty please?)

This light is awesome, and being that my husband and I just closed on our first home yesterday we would love to have it!! {I have the perfect space in mind!} I only went to junior college in Livermore, CA…which is where we just bought our house! I love the downtown area – so fabulous, and all of the wineries – even more fabulous!

Wow, love this lamp. We moved into our new house Jan. ’08, but health issues (breast cancer …mastectomy) delayed the joy of decorating my home. Praise God CANCER FREE!!!!
EVERYDAY is a new gift and I celebrate that gift with friends and family. Have the perfect place for this lamp.
Since I’m from Alabama…… gotta say ROLLLLL TIDE :-)

I’m too late for the contest, but I couldn’t help but write a comment. As a fellow Wahoo, I love and miss so much about Charlottesville! Today I’m missing Arch’s. Yes, I love ice cream/frozen yogurt on a cold day. :)
