Fab Freebie: Going To The Chapel

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

When the folks from Two Paperdolls contacted us a couple of months ago about doing a giveaway (like they’d recently done on one of our favorite wedding sites) we knew it would be the perfect Wedding Week prize for you guys. Two Paperdolls – who are on the brink of launching a new e-commerce website with a whole new look – along with their sister site Louella Press are dishing out over $1000 worth of custom letterpress wedding (or party!) invitations. Amazing, eh? So all of you brides-to-be (or anyone else who just wants to throw a party) can cross one thing off of your to-do list.

Louella Pink Logos

If you don’t currently fall into the “engaged” category, go tell your nearest wife-to-be, mother-of-the-bride, or anyone else who is ready to give a killer engagement present about this fab little freebie. Or you yourself can use the prize for any other event or announcement that you’ve got around the corner (birthday party? baby shower? anniversary party? just-won-amazing-free-invitations party?). Louella Press designs gorgeous classic-yet-fresh invitation sets that are pretty much guaranteed to make an incredible first impression to any guest who is lucky enough to receive ’em.

Louella Orange

We’ve chosen a few of our favorites here, but be sure to click over to Louella’s site to browse the full collection. Just note that these images show engraved invitations (raised ink) but the winner will be receiving equally-beautiful letterpress invite sets (which each include an invitation, envelope, rsvp card, and rsvp envelope). And if your event or announcement doesn’t need the RSVP card and envelope, feel free to convert it to a thank you card and envelope instead. Oh, and you’ll all be receiving an exclusive YHL discount on Thursday so stay tuned…

Louella Green

Here are this week’s full details:

  • PRIZE: 50 single-color letterpress invitation sets (including 50 invitations, envelopes, rsvp cards, and rsvp envelopes) on your choice of either fluorescent white or pearl 110 pound paper, courtesy of Two Paperdolls and Louella Press
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “INVITE ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … since we’re talking invitations and guest lists, tell us whether you prefer a large family-and-friend-filled wedding or a smaller more intimate event- or maybe even a destination wedding with just a handful of lucky travel companions.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Our anniversary! (Wednesday, July 7th at 8pm EST)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: To the United States of America
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    INVITE ME!

We debated between a mountain wedding in Colorado, or a big one in our home state of Indiana. In the end, we chose to have a large wedding at home so that we could celebrate with all of our friends and family–SO worth it!

    INVITE ME!

I would have liked a smaller wedding. But really, as long as the people fit the venue, I don’t mind if it’s medium-big. I got married in a huge church, and really wish it was a smaller one. Even with the big list we had, we only filled half the church. A place filled to the brim feels right to me.

    “INVITE ME!” PLEASE!!

I am recently engaged and I am most certainly for an intimate wedding! Although what constitutes intimate? Is it 10 guests, or can it be 100? I hoping for an offbeat intimate ceremony of about 50, all on an incredibly small budget. In my mind it’s all about the marriage, not the wedding. So we are going to make it as personal and non-circus like as possible all on a tight budget so we can start our lives together and still be debt free! Winning this prize would be awesome!!! Thanks for such a great helpful blog you guys, you rock!!

I’m newly engaged and so excited for our wedding day early next summer! We are looking forward to a pretty big wedding with lots of close friends and family that have been in our lives and are important to us. The guest list is one of the hardest things to make!!

    INVITE ME!!

I always loved the thought of having a huge wedding-it seems so glamorous and so much fun but we are all about close family and friends and both have very small families. Including our wedding party, we had 55 people in total which was perfectly intimate for us. If I could do it again I would still keep it small (100 people would be perfect) and maybe do something different like a beach or destination wedding, even though our venue was beautiful.

    These invites are GORGEOUS!!

    INVITE ME!!!

We’re currently in the early stages of planning our wedding, and wow, I suddenly understand why people hire wedding planners and go on vacation while the whole thing is being taken care of at home! Ideally, we’ll just have a small ceremony in the woods somewhere, but knowing our friends and family, someone is bound to get mortally offended if they don’t make the guest list… perhaps a small wedding, but with a big post-wedding bash at a pub somewhere, after the honeymoon?

    INVITE ME!

when my husband and i got married it was insane. we had been together for four years at the time and knew we were going to get married, but hadn’t started planning at all. then he got an offer to do shows in a few countries in europe (he’s a musician) and they included an extra plane ticket. so we were like “we should get married now so that the trip could be our honeymoon cause there’s NO way we’re swinging someplace as fresh as that ourselves!!” lol. that left us 57 to plan the wedding. and actually, my husband was on a us tour at the time so i had to plan it myself. FUN!

because of these things we ended up having a small wedding that was SO much fun! i don’t know if it’s because of this fact that i’m partial to small weddings, but i am. to me, they just feel like they are more about the celebration of the couple as opposed to the big “party”. i’ve been to some gorgeous big weddings. GORG-JESS weddings. but i have almost no memories of interaction with the people tying the knot.

We had a pretty big wedding and have now been married over 9 years. While there was something wonderful about having all those people in one place–friends, family, and loved ones–there were people I regret inviting, it was a whirlwind, and an expensive one at that. If we were do it again, I’ve often thought we would have 20 people max. in our own backyard. Intimate, simple, and without the show– save the money for something grand.

We will hopefully getting married this December in my hometown. Our families and friends are both scattered, so I have no idea how many people will show up, but as long as the people who are important to us are there, it doesn’t matter if it’s big or small. These invitations would let us jump start the inviting process and figure that out sooner though!
