Fab Freebie: Going To The Chapel

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

When the folks from Two Paperdolls contacted us a couple of months ago about doing a giveaway (like they’d recently done on one of our favorite wedding sites) we knew it would be the perfect Wedding Week prize for you guys. Two Paperdolls – who are on the brink of launching a new e-commerce website with a whole new look – along with their sister site Louella Press are dishing out over $1000 worth of custom letterpress wedding (or party!) invitations. Amazing, eh? So all of you brides-to-be (or anyone else who just wants to throw a party) can cross one thing off of your to-do list.

Louella Pink Logos

If you don’t currently fall into the “engaged” category, go tell your nearest wife-to-be, mother-of-the-bride, or anyone else who is ready to give a killer engagement present about this fab little freebie. Or you yourself can use the prize for any other event or announcement that you’ve got around the corner (birthday party? baby shower? anniversary party? just-won-amazing-free-invitations party?). Louella Press designs gorgeous classic-yet-fresh invitation sets that are pretty much guaranteed to make an incredible first impression to any guest who is lucky enough to receive ’em.

We’ve chosen a few of our favorites here, but be sure to click over to Louella’s site to browse the full collection. Just note that these images show engraved invitations (raised ink) but the winner will be receiving equally-beautiful letterpress invite sets (which each include an invitation, envelope, rsvp card, and rsvp envelope). And if your event or announcement doesn’t need the RSVP card and envelope, feel free to convert it to a thank you card and envelope instead. Oh, and you’ll all be receiving an exclusive YHL discount on Thursday so stay tuned…

Louella Green

Here are this week’s full details:

  • PRIZE: 50 single-color letterpress invitation sets (including 50 invitations, envelopes, rsvp cards, and rsvp envelopes) on your choice of either fluorescent white or pearl 110 pound paper, courtesy of Two Paperdolls and Louella Press
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “INVITE ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … since we’re talking invitations and guest lists, tell us whether you prefer a large family-and-friend-filled wedding or a smaller more intimate event- or maybe even a destination wedding with just a handful of lucky travel companions.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Our anniversary! (Wednesday, July 7th at 8pm EST)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: To the United States of America
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

INVITE ME! As someone who creates handmade books and uses my own prints for covers and endpapers, I am besotted with letterpress, and more so for this beautiful work. The designs are lovely, and I’m particularly taken with Honeycomb and Harvest. Sigh.

I’ve always preferred more intimate weddings. I like the idea of a smaller number of moving parts, and many personal, beautiful touches. One of the best weddings I attended was a “potluck” wedding, where each guest brought a covered dish in lieu of a gift. I approach travel the same way, preferring to stay in one place and exploring deeply. Hmmmmm, I wonder if someone’s already “invented” the “slow wedding” movement?

Thanks so much to Two Paperdolls / Louella Press for the giveaway.

I would love these invites to invite friends and family to the blessing (christening) of our 4th little boy.

I like big parties, which works out well. By only inviting a small handful of close friends and only family members who were first cousins, aunts, uncles, or closer, we still had over 150 people at our wedding. My family is reaaaaaaally big. But everybody had a blast, and I found that, even in a large group, if everybody knows each other, it can still feel intimate and inviting. We have our wedding up on my website if you want to check it out, though it’s not nearly as DIY as the lovely Youngsters’ was (distance can be a constraining factor).

Small small small… I don’t know how selfish I’m being to say that the party should be about sharing the joy of the happy couple instead of a party with a wedding as sideline entertainment. From the guest perspective, I think it’s nice to feel that each individual’s presence is desired and not just a numbers/political game.

We had a fantastic dance your toes off, eat-drink-and-be-married kind of wedding with bunches and bunches of family and friends (140ish to be exactish). It was a dream come true. :)

If I won this giveaway, I would use it for our baby announcements (hopefully in the next year or 2)…or a we-just-won-some-killer-invitations party. either way it'd be stellar!

well, my boyfriend is english and I am american, so the chance of either of us getting our whole family and friends to the same side of a pond for a large wedding is slim. I think i’d like a small, intimate, destination wedding (croatia, perhaps?) with just me and him and a few of our closests friends and family :)

Oh my…this would be one of the best things to win right now. We are planning a small wedding for either October or November of this month. We are planning on inviting close friends and family. I’ve been playing around trying to DIY invitations and have invested so much time and the results are less than optimal.

Fingers crossed in Gloucester Point, VA
