Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I sit by the pool in the sun until I’m too warm. Then I get in a wade around a bit until I’m ready to go bake again. :)

Never been much of a swimmer, but lounging in the pool to cool off on a hot summer day sounds divine!

    LET’S GO SWIMMING!
I swam every single day of summer when I was a kid (from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the local pool) and very often as a teenager at the beach and the lake. In college I also swam every evening to destress (my husband was being deployed to Iraq) and I loved it. I don’t swim much now, but I have taken my toddler to swimming lessons and hope to start swimming again.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I’m already planning my summer camping trips on the beach so I can swim for days! I usually can’t wait for summer, so I have to sneak in a few polar bear swims. Pool, ocean, lake, river, creek… Give me water, and I’m in it.

I’m a self taught non-drowner. Can’t say I can swim cause my “swimming” technique is the most inefficient I have ever seen. I get tired in about 2 minutes :D

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I like to do a few laps to start, but prefer to lounge around in the pool (when we have access to one). The most fun thing is to watch my 3yr old jump in hundreds of times(and look shocked every time). He’s so much fun!

    Let’s Go Swimming!

I was born and raised in Florida, so I spent as much time as I could in the water. Since I moved away it never feels hot enough to go for a swim (last July would be the exception, ha!).

Let’s go swimming! My favorite thing to do in the water is close my eyes and float on my back. So peaceful. But I’d love to take an adult swimming class to learn how to swim better. I never had lessons as a kid do my technique could use some work :)

Let’s go swimming! We live at the pool in the summer, watching our 8-year-old and 5-year-old go crazy off the diving board and trying to convey to the baby that, much as he would like to, he can’t actually swim yet!

Swim team in high school – oh the days of over-chlorinated, super-shiny hair. I hadn’t done laps for years, just floated on a raft or snoozed in a lawn chair. Joined a gym and wandered past the pool daily, wondering if I could still swim a mile. I finally gave in to the temptation and took the plunge (pun intended). Oh so wonderful that weightless, drifting feeling. No, couldn’t do a mile, but I’m getting there.

I love being in the water, but I am not a strong swimmer. In grade school my friend’s dad affectionately told me that I swim like a crocodile doing a death roll…and I have not improved much. :-/ Thank goodness we have some awesome warm and shallow beaches here!
