Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I love to go to the pool/beach, but usually just take quick dips if it’s really hot and then get back out and read a book.

LET’S GO SWIMMING!I come from a long line of very good swimmers. I love to swim and once I’m in the water it’s difficult for me to get out until I’m shriveled like a prune. And I do love these prints; they capture the watery aspect very well. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music

LET’S GO SWIMMING!! To say I was not a good swimmer as a child would be an understatement. I don’t swim, I sink. As an adult I’ve come to appreciate the water more and more, and I adored snorkeling in Maui when we were there three years ago in March.

… or not. As my sight grew worse and worse, my love for spending time in the water declined. :/ But as a child I loved swimming and diving.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I don’t discriminate when it comes to anything water related… swimming laps, splashing around, surfing, scuba diving, drinking fruity drinks in the sun beside the pool… I think I was a mermaid in another life :)

    Let’s go swimming!!

I used to always think I was a “great swimmer.” And then, when my now husband was just my boyfriend, he took me swimming and noted that (a) I can’t dive. (b) I don’t put my face in the water when I swim laps. and (c) when I try to swim underwater, I just float to the top. But I can tread water for hours. Seriously. I won a contest in college. So there.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! Each year growing up, I’d look forward to holidays and birthdays and such, but my favorite yearly event was the first swim in the river every spring. You’d know the day when it came– the first day that it got all hot and sticky, and all you could think about at school was getting home and jumping off a dock into the cool river. It was the best!
