Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I love this artist… and I have loved swimming ever since I was a little girl swimming at the lake, when (city girl alert!) someone told me the lake had eels, and the only eels I knew were the huge murderous ones from The Princess Pride, and I hightailed it out of there like my suit was on fire. In the lake. Which is water.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! Even though for me, “swimming” mostly means struggling to stay afloat, haha. But I’d still love to have one of Samantha’s amazing prints on my wall! (And I can’t miss the chance to finally take part in your givaways, as I’m from overseas.)

People say that I’m a lot like my Grandma, the one I never met. When talking about how much of a fish I am, my great Aunt once told me that my Grandma’s happiest day would be swimming in a dunk tank with her friends and family sitting all around in lawn chairs enjoying each others company…so LET’S GO SWIMMING! (and have a picture hanging in the house to remind me of that connection!)

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I used to do synchronized swimming, of all things, because I wanted to be involved in sports growing up but was always so uncoordinated on land! In the water, however, I was as graceful as I imagined in my head. My experiences were lovely and have contributed to a lifelong love of the water. This would be perfect for my light-on-the-art walls! Love Samantha’s work.

LET’S GO SWIMMING in the river! My husband’s family owns a house in the country a block away from the river. There’s a ford across at that point, and by sitting just beneath the cement “road” you get a natural jacuzzi! The water coming over the road pummels your back in a lovely manner, getting out all the aches and kinks you might have. WONDERFUL! The water is also so clear that you can be standing in water up to your chest and still be able to see your toes, and the rocks on the river bottom. A favorite place of ours!

LET’S GO SWIMMING! Our whole family enjoys some form of swimming – my husband is a surfer, the summer is the beginning of swim team for my 2 oldest girls, my almost 4 year old thinks he’s a pirate shark and has been swimming since he was 18 months thanks to ISR lessons, and my 18 month old is in the middle of ISR lessons now preparing for our trip to Curacao in May! I love the great cardio work out I get from swimming laps and the quietness of being under water (I have 4 kids, you know? :)
