Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! Unfortunately, my ability to swim stretches as far as floating while holding the hand rail or ‘bobbing’ in the shallow end. I still have fond memories of learning to pick my nose clip off the bottom of the pool or sinking in quick sand at the beach – but most of my childhood swimming memories end in tears. I am nearly 3 months pregnant and vow to teach my little one to swim from an early age. I feel I’ve missed out now, and dipping my toes in a blow up kiddie pool is as close as I will get from now on…

Let’s go swimming! With the new house, we inherited a pool. Initially we considered it to be a negative to the house, but the first summer proved us wrong! Two years on – both our kids (and us) really enjoy the pool – yeah for sunny South African weather! We actually swim for 7-8 months of the year :-)

LET’S GO SWIMMING! In Durban, RSA, humid summer temperatures reach the Forties (Celcius). Almost all homes have a pool and if not the beach is only 20min away wherever you live! We all love the water!

One of my favourite pool memories is quite recent. It was a particularly uncomfortable day in February – too hot to move. So my mom and I stood in the pool in the shade of an overhanging tree. She read the paper laid out on the paved surround while I did some beading!

omg. i am a water baby – always have been. i spent my formative years in florida, and all i did was swim. still love it, though i don’t have the muscle strength to do it as long as i want. basically, i feel like a jellyfish long before i’m ready to get out. i’m hoping to instill the same thing in my 5 year old this summer, when she gets swimming lessons and a summer at grandma and grandpa’s with the pool.
