Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I love swimming laps although I’m a terrible swimmer and have the worst form – it’s still an amazing workout and a million times more fun than running for me.

Lets go Swimming!! I AM a swimmer, just finished up 2,500 meters at a pool in South Korea, were I live teaching English. Swimming in Korea is peculiar, but I’m so happy for the exercise! Just moved into a new apartment with too many WHITE walls!

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I wouldn’t call myself a swimmer per se, but the print of the two girls under water reminds me of childhood and the hot Texas summers spent at my late grandfather’s motel swimming pool. May have to purchase that print for my pleasure even if I don’t win the prize. Thanks for another fun chance to win!

I live for swimming, or at least, I did, until I let my husband convince me to move from Arizona to Illinois, where it is far too cold for swimming most of the year and where pools are big, ugly, above ground affairs of an unsatisfying size. More’s the pity: (

    Let’s go swimming!!!

I love swimming. Well, lounging in the water, I should say. I failed miserably as a swim team swimmer that my parents forced me to do when I was little. And then, as a 10 year old competing in the 6 and under category, I still managed to look like a child seizing, and I came in last, in the infamous butterfly race. Humiliating. Oh well!

But really, though. I could spend all day in the lake, ocean, or pool. Just not stroke swimming.

I think it is illegal to not be ‘a swimmer’ in the state (Queensland, Aus) we live in…either that or insane…people even swim right through winter – but they tend to be the tourists from down south. Locals just mutter how insane they are and go put another jumper on.
