Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

    LET’S GO SWIMMING!

I like to swim, but mostly that involves a lot of lazy floating these days. The way I used to swim when I was a kid (very hard, with lots of underwater breath-holding) gives me a splitting headache, which is a shame, because I miss being able to swim like a fish for hours on end.

I was swimming 3-4 times a week at the Y until I got horrible morning sickness! :-( I am 30 weeks along now and too weird shaped/out of shape to swim comfortably. I hope to return real soon!

LET’S GO SWIMMING! My husband’s practically a fish, but I prefer lounging around on a floating raft with a cold cocktail.

I love Samantha French’s work! She came to an arts festival in my city and I just love her pool pieces.

I love eating then swimming (Don’t tell my mom!) It’s so nice to just lounge around with a full tummy. Sippin’ my Cherry Limeade on the side. Or water. Whichever I have around, trying to keep the dogs from drinkin’ my drink.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! That sentence is in the chorus of one of my favorite pre-k songs. You guys should check out Carole Peterson, or her band “macaroni soup” for clara. The little fish song is super fun it’s cute to watch the 3-5 year olds in my class act it out! I like to swim, but I wish I could figure out a way to listen to my ipod while I do it!

Let’s Go Swimming! I like swimming in pools over lakes, even though I’m from Minnesota and that’s sacrilege here. However, my very favorite is ‘swimming’ (relaxing) in a Jacuzzi overlooking an ocean with a strawberry daiquiri in hand on vacation. Ahhhhh….

I am a swimmer! Well retired now but recently moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky where I coach both the mens and women’s swim team at Western Kentucky University. I love these prints and have seen them before but can’t remember if it was on your blog or on etsy itself. I am in the process of decorating my new apartment and would love to add one of Samantha’s paintings to my collection (to note..i was an art history grad student prior to becoming a swim coach-odd background I know).
