Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

    Let’s go Swimming!

You know, here in the NW it is often too cold to go swimming in natural bodies of water but I have always really loved living near the water. I live near puget sound right now and it is such a pretty drive to work! I’m glad I’ve never had to live landlocked somewhere.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! Stimulating prints, aren’t they? I LOVE swimming and lounging (in equal measure and alternating) when it’s toasty outside. I’m hoping my 4-year-old daughter can make as much improvement this summer with floaties and lessions as she did last summer so that we can all enjoy!

Having been born in an island and now living 5′ from the sea, I’d say we pretty much live in the water! During summer, I usually swim first thing in the morning by myself and then after 5 in the afternoon with my son and husband and more often than not with many friends.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! Ooohh I love those worldwide giveaways, living in the Netherlands ;) but seriously, swimming is awesome, especially in the sea. Unfortunately we’ve had lowsy summers the past years that kept the water very cold, but that doesn’t stop anybody from going in.

    Sherry, a very happy b-day!

LET’S GO SWIMMING!!!!!!!!!! i swam competitively for six years … it saved my life. i moved to a new state at the end of fourth grade and was bullied relentlessly for several years. i joined the swim team in sixth grade and started to make friends and gain self-confidence. in middle school, a few swimming friends were there so i wasn’t completely isolated anymore. by high school, i had the whole team looking out for me, and people forgot i was ‘new.’ going to state my freshman and junior years finally gave me the self-esteem that i needed to propel me forward after high school. swimming was the most important thing in my life until graduation. now my son is on the swim team, my daughter can’t wait to be, and i get to live vicariously through them. and i still count a few of my former teammates among my closest friends … even 20 years later. i’ve been lusting after these paintings for more than a year, because of the way they nail the feelings of peace and happiness and quieting of the mind that being underwater gives me. if i don’t win, i’ll still keep saving my pennies to buy one.

What an amazing giveaway! I’ve had my eye on the print of that top left painting for a while now. My sister and I went swimming together every sunday growing up, and the picture reminds me of it. It’s so evocative of that feeling of being underwater looking up.

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I love swimming, especially lake swimming, but don’t get to do that much up here in AK because the water is still pretty cold in the summer. Doesn’t seem to bother the pup though, he’s fanatical about swimming in anything that resembles water.
