Fab Freebie: Father Lowe’s Best

****This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Having now been a father for one whole month (Happy 1- month birthday, Clara!) I’m totally psyched for this Sunday: my first Father’s Day. Another reason I’m psyched? Because our friends at Lowe’s have offered to help us celebrate Daddy Day with a handy gift guide mood board along with a totally testosterone-ready prize. So if you’re still scratching you head about what to get ol’ pops, here are a few ideas to get you started. And if you’re our lucky winner, you might just be covered entirely (for the next few years even):

Lowes Father's Moodboard

  1. What’s Father’s Day without tools? Kobalt 22 Piece Set ($50) is a great starter set if your guy happens to be tool-less. It covers all the basics, plus dad gets a tool bag to keep it all organized.
  2. If dad’s covered in the tool department, help him step it up a notch with a Kobalt 60 Piece Driver Set ($54) that has a bit for just about any job you can think of and then some.
  3. Now if you really want to splurge on pop this year, upgrade his workshop with a Kobalt 53” Tool Chest ($1798). It’s not your everyday tool storage space – it’s got a radio and mini fridge built in! Like woah.
  4. If tools aren’t his thing, help him tend to the yard with the Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower ($199) that we’re enjoying. It’s an eco-friendly way to mow, plus he’ll get a little extra workout in.
  5. Or hook him up with a Troy-Bilt String Trimmer ($100) to keep those edges in check. Bonus: he might just stop mowing over the flower beds.
  6. You can also send him on a power trip with the Porter Cable 4 Piece Combo Kit ($129) that’s got a cordless reciprocating saw, circular saw, drill and flashlight all powered by the same battery.
  7. But enough about gifts that put dad to work. What about letting him relax with a nice meal straight from the grill? This compact, but powerful 2-burner Char-Broil Urban Grill ($269) could do the trick.
  8. Lastly, if he’s like most guys and is just plain hard to shop for. You can never go wrong with a Lowe’s Gift Card, right?

If you read this morning’s post about my experience with the Fiskars Momentum mower, you already know that it’s part of this week’s prize.

Lowes Fiskars Mower

What you don’t know is that this week’s winner is also gonna score #7 on our gift guide too. Yep, the Char-Broil Urban Grill is also making it’s way to one of you. That way you can spoil the dad in your life with a one-two punch of prizes (or split ’em up if you got a few fathers to pamper this year). Okay, and we wouldn’t blame you if you just kept ’em for yourself. Can’t beat nearly $500 in free stuff, right?

Lowes Char Broil Grill

Now let’s get on to how you enter:

  • PRIZE: The Char-Broil Urban Grill and Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower courtesy of Lowe’s, Char-Broil and Fiskars
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY _______!” (inserting the names of the dad(s) or father-like figures in your life) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why not share something you love about them or how you plan to celebrate, honor or remember them this weekend. Feel free to gush, get sappy, or just tell an embarrassing story that captures why he (or they) make your day.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Happy Father’s Day to my awesome dad, father-in-law, grandfather-in-law and my wonderful uncle and great uncles–all of whom I’ll be celebrating with this Father’s Day at our family reunion! I’m blessed to have such wonderful fathers in my life. Thank you all for the guidance, love and advice you’ve given all my life–I love you!

One of my favorite quotes about fathers:

“It’s only when you grow up, and step back from him, or leave him for your own career and your own home—it’s only then that you can measure his greatness and fully appreciate it. Pride reinforces love.” — Margaret Truman

    HAPPY FATHERS DAY JEFF!!!!!!

Jeff deserves this SO much. He has sacrificed beyond what any normal father would, for our family. He’s a full time student, taking at least 5 classes per quarter. He gets excellent grades and works very hard. He has goals for our family and keeps those in mind everyday as he leaves us to study and learn. I’m so proud of him, I can’t even express it enough. I can’t imagine doing what he does. I would love nothing more than to bless him with both of these things. We would love a grill, but it’s just not something we can afford! And we have a reel mower, but it’s an old one that doesn’t work that well. He would be overjoyed to receive those gifts. Thank you SO much for offering this.

Happy Father’s Day Brian! My sweet husband is the best father! We have an 18 month daughter and when I see them together it makes me feel so blessed and lucky and happy. He is so patient, loving and playful with her. She loves him so much and I do to. He takes such good care of us. When my daughter was in the hospital for a few weeks after she was born, he was the one who kept me sane. He is supportive of me in every way possible. We are learning to be parents together and I can’t imagine a better person to do that with. I absolutely love being married to him. (I kind of gushed…sorry, I just love him like crazy)

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY POPS! aka Dennis :) What I love most about my dad is the realization, in my adulthood, of what a wonderful parent he was. Most of my friends’ dads didn’t “parent.” They worked, they played occasionally, but they didn’t get involved in the raising of their girls. My dad loved me when I was sick, took me to the doctor when needed, changed his work schedule to coach my soccer team, took me out to dinner one on one just to talk, and was truly involved in the raising and molding of me into the adult I am today. I’ve just had my first child (May 19!), and as a parent now, I appreciate even more the fantastic job that my father did in parenting me :)

Happy Fathers Day dad! I love my father because he would do anything for me. He CARES so much. He is a little awkward and we didn’t always communicate together while I was growing up. But his love and support never waived, no matter what. When your daughter knows she is totally loved, then you know you have been a great father. Love you dad :)
