Fab Freebie: Father Lowe’s Best

****This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Having now been a father for one whole month (Happy 1- month birthday, Clara!) I’m totally psyched for this Sunday: my first Father’s Day. Another reason I’m psyched? Because our friends at Lowe’s have offered to help us celebrate Daddy Day with a handy gift guide mood board along with a totally testosterone-ready prize. So if you’re still scratching you head about what to get ol’ pops, here are a few ideas to get you started. And if you’re our lucky winner, you might just be covered entirely (for the next few years even):

Lowes Father's Moodboard

  1. What’s Father’s Day without tools? Kobalt 22 Piece Set ($50) is a great starter set if your guy happens to be tool-less. It covers all the basics, plus dad gets a tool bag to keep it all organized.
  2. If dad’s covered in the tool department, help him step it up a notch with a Kobalt 60 Piece Driver Set ($54) that has a bit for just about any job you can think of and then some.
  3. Now if you really want to splurge on pop this year, upgrade his workshop with a Kobalt 53” Tool Chest ($1798). It’s not your everyday tool storage space – it’s got a radio and mini fridge built in! Like woah.
  4. If tools aren’t his thing, help him tend to the yard with the Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower ($199) that we’re enjoying. It’s an eco-friendly way to mow, plus he’ll get a little extra workout in.
  5. Or hook him up with a Troy-Bilt String Trimmer ($100) to keep those edges in check. Bonus: he might just stop mowing over the flower beds.
  6. You can also send him on a power trip with the Porter Cable 4 Piece Combo Kit ($129) that’s got a cordless reciprocating saw, circular saw, drill and flashlight all powered by the same battery.
  7. But enough about gifts that put dad to work. What about letting him relax with a nice meal straight from the grill? This compact, but powerful 2-burner Char-Broil Urban Grill ($269) could do the trick.
  8. Lastly, if he’s like most guys and is just plain hard to shop for. You can never go wrong with a Lowe’s Gift Card, right?

If you read this morning’s post about my experience with the Fiskars Momentum mower, you already know that it’s part of this week’s prize.

Lowes Fiskars Mower

What you don’t know is that this week’s winner is also gonna score #7 on our gift guide too. Yep, the Char-Broil Urban Grill is also making it’s way to one of you. That way you can spoil the dad in your life with a one-two punch of prizes (or split ’em up if you got a few fathers to pamper this year). Okay, and we wouldn’t blame you if you just kept ’em for yourself. Can’t beat nearly $500 in free stuff, right?

Lowes Char Broil Grill

Now let’s get on to how you enter:

  • PRIZE: The Char-Broil Urban Grill and Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower courtesy of Lowe’s, Char-Broil and Fiskars
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY _______!” (inserting the names of the dad(s) or father-like figures in your life) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why not share something you love about them or how you plan to celebrate, honor or remember them this weekend. Feel free to gush, get sappy, or just tell an embarrassing story that captures why he (or they) make your day.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Happy Father’s Day Charlie & Thomas!

Since my dad and my father-in-law are both your typical sports watchin’ steak and potatoes eatin’ type guys, what better way to celebrate them than with a family BBQ and some nice porterhouse steaks! YUMMM. We could really use that new grill!!

Oh, and happy one month birthday Clara!!

    Happy Father’s Day Dad!

He’s the most unselfish person, always giving and never expecting much in return. The reel mower is a bit too manual for the massive yard he has, but I’m sure he’d love the grill!

Happy Fathers Day, Dad and Husband!

I can’t call them by their first names because that’s just weird. I love them too much to address them that way. :)

My dad and I were never close until I left home and on the day he walked me down the aisle to my husband I couldn’t have felt more like his favorite person in the world. He beamed with pride and love and he was the man I always knew he was. I got him a personalized “scooby snack” jar for his midnight chocolate cravings and I think he’s going to love it!

My husband and I just have dogs, so the boys will be getting him something like clean paws and a squeaky toy to throw :)

Happy Father’s Day Bob! As far as Dads go, I’ve been incredibly blessed. My Dad has been there for me throughout my life—from flying home from business trips early for school plays and sports games to walking me down the aisle at my wedding ;last year—he’s the most generous, caring man I know. Love you Dad!!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY NATE!

Nate is the best kitty daddy there is! Nate is a cat dad to brother and sister Theo and Paris. We got them when we were living in Hawaii. Nate has never had a cat before, but he saw that I was bored out of my mind and surprised me at a friend’s house, who was fostering a litter of kittens he found on Hickham Air Force Base. When I walked into the room, little kittens came running out from underneath the bed towards me!! Nate said that I could have two of them!

    Happy Father’s Day, Chris!

I just love to see my husband scoop my 4 year old and one year old up and carry them around–my dad passed away 6 years ago but I know he would be proud of the man I picked to marry-they’re alot alike. Don’t have much money to spend this weekend but I’m sure Chris will get a relaxing day in front of the TV and we’ll probably end it with our daily ritual of all four of us chasing each other around the house playing “monster”!

Happy Father’s Day, Peter and Father! My husband is the most amazing dad, husband, handyman, chef, listener…I knew he would be a great dad but watching him with our two children, it’s just love. My Father, as I have always called him, is and will always be the best dad in the whole Universe! Really. He really is. He is willing to tackle things that are a smidge more than he can handle (in his head he’s still 25). He helped us paint our entire house, walls and trim, in one weekend before we moved in and he helped us tear off and re-shingle our roof in another weekend. He has done countless other things for/with us from putting up dry wall in the basement to planting vegetables and flower beds. He is a wealth of diy knowledge, has an endless supply of elbow grease, and loves us unconditionally. He is Super Father, my hero.

Happy Fathers Day Jaydon, My sweet husband! :)

I would LOVE love to win that mower. We have a fairly small yard, and a mower that seems to like to give us problems EVERY time we use it. I know that my husband Jaydon would be so thrilled to actually go outside to mow the lawn, and not have to piddle around “fixing” the mower for an hour before. :)

Thanks for the opp guys! Happy fathers day to you John. :)

To celebrate, my awesome dad is heading down to our new house to help us with a little DIY project by putting up crown molding. We already painted our ceiling a lighter shade of the blue on the walls thanks to your inspiration!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY DAD (JIM)!

I am daddy’s little girl. : ) My dad is my best friend, the one I come to for advice or go to for a good laugh. It’s hard to come up with just one memory or thing that we share… But, since there is a grill tossed into the mix, I must say, my dad and I make a pretty good cooking team. Whenever we are in the kitchen together he always says, “Well, look at us, we’re doing what we do best!” One of my dreams is to open a restaurant with my dad. My wedding is coming up this August and he will be grilling chicken for the big dinner on a homemade grill! WMy fiance and I are using some of your advice for our wedding – totally doing the backyard thing! So, thanks for your money saving tips on this!

And big congratulations on being a father for a month! Enjoy your first Father’s day!
