Fab Freebie: Father Lowe’s Best

****This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Having now been a father for one whole month (Happy 1- month birthday, Clara!) I’m totally psyched for this Sunday: my first Father’s Day. Another reason I’m psyched? Because our friends at Lowe’s have offered to help us celebrate Daddy Day with a handy gift guide mood board along with a totally testosterone-ready prize. So if you’re still scratching you head about what to get ol’ pops, here are a few ideas to get you started. And if you’re our lucky winner, you might just be covered entirely (for the next few years even):

Lowes Father's Moodboard

  1. What’s Father’s Day without tools? Kobalt 22 Piece Set ($50) is a great starter set if your guy happens to be tool-less. It covers all the basics, plus dad gets a tool bag to keep it all organized.
  2. If dad’s covered in the tool department, help him step it up a notch with a Kobalt 60 Piece Driver Set ($54) that has a bit for just about any job you can think of and then some.
  3. Now if you really want to splurge on pop this year, upgrade his workshop with a Kobalt 53” Tool Chest ($1798). It’s not your everyday tool storage space – it’s got a radio and mini fridge built in! Like woah.
  4. If tools aren’t his thing, help him tend to the yard with the Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower ($199) that we’re enjoying. It’s an eco-friendly way to mow, plus he’ll get a little extra workout in.
  5. Or hook him up with a Troy-Bilt String Trimmer ($100) to keep those edges in check. Bonus: he might just stop mowing over the flower beds.
  6. You can also send him on a power trip with the Porter Cable 4 Piece Combo Kit ($129) that’s got a cordless reciprocating saw, circular saw, drill and flashlight all powered by the same battery.
  7. But enough about gifts that put dad to work. What about letting him relax with a nice meal straight from the grill? This compact, but powerful 2-burner Char-Broil Urban Grill ($269) could do the trick.
  8. Lastly, if he’s like most guys and is just plain hard to shop for. You can never go wrong with a Lowe’s Gift Card, right?

If you read this morning’s post about my experience with the Fiskars Momentum mower, you already know that it’s part of this week’s prize.

Lowes Fiskars Mower

What you don’t know is that this week’s winner is also gonna score #7 on our gift guide too. Yep, the Char-Broil Urban Grill is also making it’s way to one of you. That way you can spoil the dad in your life with a one-two punch of prizes (or split ’em up if you got a few fathers to pamper this year). Okay, and we wouldn’t blame you if you just kept ’em for yourself. Can’t beat nearly $500 in free stuff, right?

Lowes Char Broil Grill

Now let’s get on to how you enter:

  • PRIZE: The Char-Broil Urban Grill and Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower courtesy of Lowe’s, Char-Broil and Fiskars
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY _______!” (inserting the names of the dad(s) or father-like figures in your life) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why not share something you love about them or how you plan to celebrate, honor or remember them this weekend. Feel free to gush, get sappy, or just tell an embarrassing story that captures why he (or they) make your day.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Happy Father Day Dad! My dad is the best! He is the dad of two girls and has been supportive of any activity that we have participated in. Not only has he been supportive, but hands on. He was deemed the offical dance dad from sitting through numerous dance lessons, recitials, and competitions, and even hand sewn some of our costumes (mom worked afternoons- so dad scored that job!). He has always been our biggest fan, front row and center. He coached any sports team we were involved in and moved us more times than we can count. he always shows up with a smile and a helping hand! He is the best! My sister and I are certialy lucky- new grill or not :) Though a new grill would be a cool suprise for him!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY DAD!

Prime example of why my dad is so fab: My husband is deployed to Afghanistan right now and I’m totally feeling the lack of male presence in my home. When I found that there was a family of mice living in my closet and could barely stand to be in my house- daddy to the rescue. He drove the hour and a half- without hesitation- to my house, took care of the rodents, took me out to lunch AND put in my 18 million pound A/Cs in. You’re fab dad, I love you.

    HAPPY FATHERS DAY, Da-da!

This is my husbands first fathers day with our daughter being born in March shortly after his return from Iraq. She is 14 weeks now and we’re exhausted, but could never imagine life without her -such a blessing. We were planning on doing ceramic hand and footprints… but this would be cool, too! ;)

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, DAD!

You call me nearly every day not only to check in, but to tell me about a house for sale that’d be just *perfect* for us, or the used boat you’ve found on craigslist that you just *have* to have (dream on. mom wants the house paid off first). Your love, optimism, sense of nostalgia, and love of family have blessed me beyond measure. Love you, Dad. [And even though I’m kinda sick of hearing about it it, you so deserve that flashy red ’97 Crownline you’ve got your eye on. Don’t tell mom I said so.]

    love,

I lost my husband of 18 years in an auto accident six weeks ago. My daughter survived, thank goodness! These men have stepped up to keep the memory of her father alive and to keep us safe & secure. They are our new Mr. Fix-Its! I love them all.

This father’s day we’re celebrating my husband’s first! It will also be a special day because our daughter is being baptized that Sunday!! Father’s Day is also a significant day in my family’s life because my own father passed away right around the father’s day (the 21st). The 21st is also my husband’s and my anniversary! In fact, this year between the 17th-21st we are celebrating my husband’s birthday, our anniversary, father’s day, our daughter’s baptism, and remembering my own wonderful father! We like to pack it all in at once! :)

Happy Fathers Day Lionel! I know you never like to be put “on the spot” with people telling you how much they appreciate and love you but Fathers Day is the one day of the year you have to sit back and take it all! So, get ready! Your sense of humor and your attention to detail makes you an awesome dad and husband, pretty much an awesome person overall. We’re lucky that you are such a key person in our lives because we get to enjoy your company everyday-even when you pick on us for things we do, like yelling everything in our Oprah voice but we will always looooooooove you!

Dudley is my stepdad and has only been a part of our family for a couple of years now but he has made major moves helping to heal the damage my biological father inflicted on my mom, my brother, and me for the past 26 years.
He is so loving and fun and I’m still in shock that he was determined enough to take on our kind of crazy and try to make a difference in our lives!
    We love you Dudley :)

Happy Father’s Day, Seth! Our 20-month old loves to follow Daddy around as they both mow the lawn – Seth with an older reel mower that is not as fancy as this one, and our little boy with his toy mower his loving grandpa gave him. My own father was the original eco lawn-caretaker, using an old reel mower on our lawn my entire life. Mowing aside, these are wonderful men who care so much for their children in every way.

One of my favorite things about my Dad is his sense of humor. I think he is absolutely hilarious and laugh at all his jokes. He’s lucky too because I’m the only one out of his 4 kids who actually think he’s funny :) And for Brad, my boyfriend, this is just his 2nd Father’s day to my daughter who he has taken under his wing as his own. He sees Father’s Day as being super special because he gets to celebrate it as a father himself :)

I’m so glad our son has a real, Godly man to look up to and be his hero and train him to grow up to be a man of standard himself. I’m so glad our daughter has a Godly father to be not only her hero but also her first admirer and someone to teach her how a man should treat a woman.
