Fab Freebie: Father Lowe’s Best

****This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Having now been a father for one whole month (Happy 1- month birthday, Clara!) I’m totally psyched for this Sunday: my first Father’s Day. Another reason I’m psyched? Because our friends at Lowe’s have offered to help us celebrate Daddy Day with a handy gift guide mood board along with a totally testosterone-ready prize. So if you’re still scratching you head about what to get ol’ pops, here are a few ideas to get you started. And if you’re our lucky winner, you might just be covered entirely (for the next few years even):

Lowes Father's Moodboard

  1. What’s Father’s Day without tools? Kobalt 22 Piece Set ($50) is a great starter set if your guy happens to be tool-less. It covers all the basics, plus dad gets a tool bag to keep it all organized.
  2. If dad’s covered in the tool department, help him step it up a notch with a Kobalt 60 Piece Driver Set ($54) that has a bit for just about any job you can think of and then some.
  3. Now if you really want to splurge on pop this year, upgrade his workshop with a Kobalt 53” Tool Chest ($1798). It’s not your everyday tool storage space – it’s got a radio and mini fridge built in! Like woah.
  4. If tools aren’t his thing, help him tend to the yard with the Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower ($199) that we’re enjoying. It’s an eco-friendly way to mow, plus he’ll get a little extra workout in.
  5. Or hook him up with a Troy-Bilt String Trimmer ($100) to keep those edges in check. Bonus: he might just stop mowing over the flower beds.
  6. You can also send him on a power trip with the Porter Cable 4 Piece Combo Kit ($129) that’s got a cordless reciprocating saw, circular saw, drill and flashlight all powered by the same battery.
  7. But enough about gifts that put dad to work. What about letting him relax with a nice meal straight from the grill? This compact, but powerful 2-burner Char-Broil Urban Grill ($269) could do the trick.
  8. Lastly, if he’s like most guys and is just plain hard to shop for. You can never go wrong with a Lowe’s Gift Card, right?

If you read this morning’s post about my experience with the Fiskars Momentum mower, you already know that it’s part of this week’s prize.

Lowes Fiskars Mower

What you don’t know is that this week’s winner is also gonna score #7 on our gift guide too. Yep, the Char-Broil Urban Grill is also making it’s way to one of you. That way you can spoil the dad in your life with a one-two punch of prizes (or split ’em up if you got a few fathers to pamper this year). Okay, and we wouldn’t blame you if you just kept ’em for yourself. Can’t beat nearly $500 in free stuff, right?

Lowes Char Broil Grill

Now let’s get on to how you enter:

  • PRIZE: The Char-Broil Urban Grill and Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower courtesy of Lowe’s, Char-Broil and Fiskars
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY _______!” (inserting the names of the dad(s) or father-like figures in your life) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why not share something you love about them or how you plan to celebrate, honor or remember them this weekend. Feel free to gush, get sappy, or just tell an embarrassing story that captures why he (or they) make your day.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Happy Father’s Day, Bill!!

Bill, me pops, is a laid back gent who I love to share music, movies, and books with. I plan to honor the old man by relaxing on the back patio with some iced tea, the dogs, and some music! Oh, and happy retirement, dad!

    Happy Father’s Day Anthony!
My husband is about to become a first time dad in 3.5 weeks, if our little girl comes out on time. He has been busting his bottom trying to prep our house (bought a fixer upper back in October one month before finding out we were pregnant!) for the baby. I can’t even begin to tell you how awesome these gifts would be for him. We have an old hand me down mower too and the grill that came with our house (we thought it was so cool because it was connected to the gas line) just toppled over from rust and corrosion last week! So much for being cool…

And Happy Father’s Day to you John! Enjoy every second.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY JOSH, Dad AND JOE!

My husband Josh and I have been through so much together and we managed to get through it all and in the meantime raising our son together. My husband really does give my life meaning and brings out the best me. My father and father in law are both amazing men and I can’t even begin to describe how fortune my husband and I are to have such caring and passionate people in our lives. They amaze me with their drive, hardwork, and wisdom. They were both in the special forces and are now instructors teaching aspiring special forces students. My “dad” is actually my step father. He stepped into my life (and my twin siblings) when my biological father left and adopted us as his own. He gave us the hope and love that me, mom and my siblings deserved.

one thing i’ve come to appreciate most about my dad over the past couple of years (post-college) is how he gives me advice – he always gives his opinion and generously shares his experiences, but makes sure i know that i have to do what I want and that he’ll support me whatever that is. it’s been so nice having someone help me make my decisions, but who understands that they’re mine to make! i’ve loved watching my dad grow up with me, haha…

Happy Fathers Day Steve! My dad just bought his first house since he & my mom divorced 15 years ago. It’s a pretty big deal for him as he has been living in apartments since then, and he has NO lawn mower yet! I know he would absolutely love this prize. He is basically renovating the entire house which I am excited to help out with!

Happy 1st Fathers Day to you as well! Clara is freaking adorable.

You are the best daddy ever and the lurv of my life! I love watching you play with Henry (our son, 13 mos.) Nobody is more fun than you, and both Henry and I know it. But the sweetest daddy thing you do is wake up with him every morning and make breakfast for the two of you. No matter what you make him — he’d always rather eat your breakfast! xoxo

Happy Fathers Day Jimmer and Waltzilla. Waltzilla, the Hot Fudge Sundae Killah (we call him that for a reason) is my own Dad, and if I must say so myself, he did a fine job of raising us five kids.

Jimmer is my partner in crime, and I am duly impressed by the job he’s doing with our son, Jamer. At night, when Mom’s just about had her fill, along comes Daddy to handle bath time, getting ready for bed, and reading about as many books as Jameson wants (until I have to shut down the library) then tucking him in. He’s just a good Dad!

My amazing dad has always been one of the most sacrificial men I know. He always puts his family above himself and does anything that he needs to for his family. Sometimes money situations have been difficult for my family and he has never ever complained, he just worked harder. Right now, he is living thousands of miles away from my family so that my parents can keep their house and my brothers can go to college. He truly is an amazing man and I am blessed to have him as a father!

    “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY Amado!”

My dad and I have become so close with my dad as I’ve grown older. He is a very important person in my life and has been a huge help in the remodeling of our home. When I saw water pouring into my house through a skylight; he was the first one that I called. When water was about an inch thick on my bathroom floor and I had no idea how to stop it; he was the first one I called. When we had buyers remorse about the “money pit” that we had just bought; he was the one who said that everyone has to start somewhere and that after a few projects were done, it wouldn’t be so bad.
So here’s to you dad! I hope that I win this week to give you a HUGE father’s day gift!
