For years now, one of our favorite places to score awesome fabric on a budget has been a local shop called U-Fab (also run by a young married duo!). Everything from our headboard to our old dining room curtains to the backdrop we used for last week’s pregnancy announcement has hailed from there. And now that they’ve launched an e-shop, we’re excited to do a giveaway with them. And not just any giveaway – a $500 gift card giveaway! So, you can either stock up on fabrics… or take their custom upholstery services for a spin (they do bedding, pillows, window treatments, and even furniture). Plus, they’re all-around nice, fun-loving people.

Not be the annoying person with technical difficulties, but… ;) Rafflecopter NEVER loads for me, on your site or any other. I usually use Chrome (on Windows) but I can’t get it to work with Internet Explorer either. I thought I’d try to crowdsource the answer… Anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

I live in the Louisville area, and the fabric shops that have been around here a long time continue to carry traditional fabrics for the most part. It wasn’t until Jo-Ann Fabrics moved in that we started getting access to more current patterns.
I have not attempted real upholstery yet (re-doing a simple seat cover doesn’t count), so I would love to find a local upholstery shop and just watch how they do their magic.

Thanks for this giveaway. I’m always wishing we had a U-Fab type store where I am. I live in the Chicago area, but I must not know where to look for great, independent fabric stores. Anyway, this is the first time I’ve entered one of your giveaways. As others have said, thanks for making it so simple and for having only one entry per person. But I was wondering if you or UFab or Rafflecopter does anything with our email addresses. That’s one of the reasons I’m hesitant to enter giveaways (and because I didn’t know how simple it was). Thanks!

On U-Fab’s behalf: We do not do anything with your email, both in Rafflecopter, nor if you create an account and purchase fabric from us. The only time we will email you is if you sign up for the newsletter subscription found at the bottom of our site. Even then, we really use it as a Newsletter and only send out quarterly updates typically. It’s pretty safe to say J&S wont do anything with your email either.
Also we went to Chicago a couple years ago, and weren’t too impressed with the Fabric stores either! Happy to serve the much needed fabric market out there.

Thanks for sharing that info Carley! We never do anything with anyone’s emails (other than use them to notify the winner) and Rafflecopter has a statement about never using people’s email for anything other than winner notification as well, so they’re safe/secure things!

This whole feedly+rafflecopter combination is ridiculous. I just waisted 5+ minutes waiting for rafflecopter to load, and it never did. I can’t tell you how many of your recent giveaways I have tried to enter, but given up because I either didn’t have the time or patience to fight with the entry system. You guys have a lot of great giveaways, but I will no longer be entering them so long as feedly and rafflecopter are not compatible.

I promise we’re not trying to annoy anyone – and we’ve actually found that many more people enter giveaways since we’ve switched to the new system (it typically takes less time than clicking into comments and manually typing something out). But I’m SO sorry it’s not compatible with Feedly! Maybe try clicking through to our site since clicking through to comment used to be part of your entry process anyway?

Love, love, love U-Fab. I go to the one in C’Ville whenever I am there. They always have something that I love. I had a chair reupholstered by them (drove from Blacksburg to Charlottesville to get it done) and it was so worth it. It is fabulous! Haven’t been to the one in Richmond yet, but might try to next time I’m in town.

The winner gets an email to confirm (we’ve already heard back from her if that helps). It might also clear things up if you comment with a name that’s less common, like SharonRPD or something, just so you can instantly see your name and know it’s you!
