Fab Freebie: Doggone To Sleep

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

A couple of weeks ago we asked our Facebook fans to share pictures of their pets (since we talk incessantly about Burger) and got an awesome response – over 100 photos and links of their four-legged friends (which you can browse right here under Fan Photos). So we figured a giveaway geared towards your pooches (and meowsers) was in order. Enter AllModernPet.com stage right…

AllModernPet Web Site

AllModernPet.com is just one ofshoot of a slew of sites (like AllModern.com) that offer a wide range of products for us humans too, from Herman Miller office furniture to Murray Feiss lighting. But that pic of the Boston Terrier sprawled out on his dog bed had us at hello, so we present to you an AllModernPet.com pet bed giveaway. One lucky pet parent will win their choice of an awesome easy-on-the-eyes bed so their furry family member can sleep in style (and your pup’s “bedroom” can be as stylish as your own).

AllModernPet Dog Beds

Here are this week’s giveaway details:

  • PRIZE: Your choice of one dog bed from Bowsers, For The Dogs and Harry Barker (Rectangle or Round), any size and fabric you’d like (valued at up to $151).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “DOGGONE IT!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about the strange place(s) your cat or dog currently likes to fall asleep. Burger’s got a whole list of weird places and positions that he dozes off in, so we’re sure your pets have some kooky sleeping habits of their own.
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, September 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One (well, two if you count the winner’s pet)
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA this time (including Alaska and Hawaii)
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

DOGGONE IT! My dog sleeps in his soft carrier. We call it his house and he will run in there when it’s time to leave in the morning (I ask him “Ready to go to work?” He comes to work with me in his house.) At night when we are staying up too late he’ll go get in his house to tell us it’s time to go to bed.
But he could definitely use a new bed to take naps in!

Our dog likes to sleep in the bathtub or our walk-in closet. Never fails to make me laugh. Or, she’ll pretend to sleep on the floor on her doggy-bed, but once my husband and I fall asleep she jumps on the bed to lay between us. When she’s particularly mischievous, she’ll bark at 2 am to scare one of us out of bed and then jump in the spot we vacate as we go look for the imaginary person that “spooked” her.

My Yorkie Macy, being small in stature, finds some pretty interesting places to sleep but her current one is under the bed just until my alarm goes off at 6am then she jumps up on the bench at the foot of the bed and then hops with all her might onto the bed, where she then curls up where I was lying all night (keeping HER spot nice and warm till morning).

our new dog, gibson wainwright prescott anderdise (aka Gibb), just arrived at his new house last night! he is fresh from the memphis animal shelter and comes to us very skinny (all ribs are visible) and very overwhelmed, but adjusting. his one and only spot to sleep so far is his kennel, which he has taken to like a fish to water. it’s his safe space, i think. he did, however, fall asleep on my lap when he first got home. we could use a new dog bed for this saved pup!

My lovely Kitties find some of the strangest places to sleep! Kitty loves to curl up on a bin of socks I have on my dresser…she’ll stand on her back two legs and using her front paws move the socks around until she’s happy with how they’re laying then she’ll hop on in for a long nap. Pokey will sleep just about anywhere. Case in point, last night she curled up on the McAlister’s bag from dinner and was holding on for dear life…we weren’t getting that food! She was happy there though and quickly fell asleep, still holding on. :-) The cute evidence: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=50658025&l=2c116a05ef&id=4903366

My kitteh, Mrs. Norris likes either the smallest box she can find or on top of any kind of paper that’s laying on the ground {no matter what size}. And she’s not a tiny cat. Her fat tends to spill out over the edges of the boxes she tries to fit into. :D

Oh Schnitzel would LOVE one of those beds. He has modern tastes, and is into clean lines…

He loves to fall asleep just about anywhere; but it’s not WHERE it’s IN WHAT POSITION that is so funny. He prefers to lie on dog beds with his body on the cushion and his face on the floor. And he’ll often contort into funny positions on his back with legs spread wide, or curled up into the tiniest little ball with his nose in his butt (not so easy for a 90 lb. labradoole!).

After my husband has left for work, my Chesapeake Bay Retriever will jump up on his side of the bed and plop down RIGHT next to me, without me even asking her to come up! Sometimes, she will just about push me off the bed! And then there are times where I get home from work, and she has made herself comfortable at the end of our bed.

We have three furbabies! Hurley, our dog will sleep anywhere… not really funny/silly places but he is very much a mamma’s boy and usually sleeps at my feet.

Crookshanks is a big fat orange cat and likes to sleep in the smallest places possible.

Leo is the funniest. He used to be wild/Farrel so we think he picked up this trait when he was living outside on his own… he always sleeps above the ground. As in, on top of shoes, on top of a towel, on top of trash – anything that will get him OFF the ground makes him happy. Who know! I’ve stared documenting the on the shoes one… pretty funnny :)

Our dog will only sleep with her head on her bed–using it as a pillow. Unless we put it in her crate & she’s forced to put her whole body on it. It would be nice for her to have another “pillow” to lay on when she comes to work with me.

My dog likes to sleep in the middle of any high traffic walkway, so that we can easily trip over her if we’re not paying attention. However, sometimes it’s really funny, because she will lay right on her back and stroke her front legs as if she was swimming in butterfly formation.
