Fab Freebie: Doggone To Sleep

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

A couple of weeks ago we asked our Facebook fans to share pictures of their pets (since we talk incessantly about Burger) and got an awesome response – over 100 photos and links of their four-legged friends (which you can browse right here under Fan Photos). So we figured a giveaway geared towards your pooches (and meowsers) was in order. Enter AllModernPet.com stage right…

AllModernPet Web Site

AllModernPet.com is just one ofshoot of a slew of sites (like AllModern.com) that offer a wide range of products for us humans too, from Herman Miller office furniture to Murray Feiss lighting. But that pic of the Boston Terrier sprawled out on his dog bed had us at hello, so we present to you an AllModernPet.com pet bed giveaway. One lucky pet parent will win their choice of an awesome easy-on-the-eyes bed so their furry family member can sleep in style (and your pup’s “bedroom” can be as stylish as your own).

AllModernPet Dog Beds

Here are this week’s giveaway details:

  • PRIZE: Your choice of one dog bed from Bowsers, For The Dogs and Harry Barker (Rectangle or Round), any size and fabric you’d like (valued at up to $151).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “DOGGONE IT!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about the strange place(s) your cat or dog currently likes to fall asleep. Burger’s got a whole list of weird places and positions that he dozes off in, so we’re sure your pets have some kooky sleeping habits of their own.
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, September 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One (well, two if you count the winner’s pet)
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA this time (including Alaska and Hawaii)
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

DOGGONE IT! My Boston Terrier, Hamlet, always falls asleep in the car. While most pooches are obsessed with looking out the window and sniffing every scent they can get their nose on, “Ham” just falls asleep on the back seat.

We have two pooches that I love with all my heart: Juniper and Una. Both are rescued shelter dogs and small Aussie mixes. Una is older and sleeps in the coveted spot on a chair in our bedroom. Juniper prefers to sleep UNDER our bed. We have dog beds on the floor, so she doesn’t do this for lack of a place to sleep. She just likes it best under there!

My two dogs don’t have a really weird place they sleep, but Beast (cocker spaniel) and Eddie (border collie) seem to think that our bed (especially just my side of the bed) is theirs So I get one tiny corner and my husband and the dogs get the rest. The little one who is 25 lbs goes straight to 250 lbs of dead weight if I try to move him.

DOGGONE IT!!! My Lab Weimeraner is 65 lbs but thinks he is a lab dog. If we sit on the ground he’ll back up into our laps and try to fit. Otherwise, he loves his dog bed, and our bed – where he’s not allowed!

My wonderful doggie Cash, doesn’t so much sleep in really weird spaces as has really weird positions. He’s a pretty big dog, 75 pounds, but he likes to sleep on his back with his feet up in the air, or my favorite position, is this tight little roll that he puts himself in where he buries his nose in his legs. It’s so cute and he’s slept that way since he was a puppy!

DOGGONE IT :) We’ve never been able to find such cute beds in the big size without them costing HUNDREDS (our pooch weighs in at a slim 105 lbs!) Anyhoo, would loooove to have a bed we’re not ashamed to have out in our room!

My two pups Larry and Lizzy like to crash IN our flower beds in the backyard – which is a little frustrating but also very cute since they have pretty flowers all around them while they sleep!

Our Morty, the scruffy rescue mutt loves to sleep curled up on top of his mom’s head. Blake laughs that it always looks like I’m wearing a Davey Crockett-inspired hat. I’ve tried to train him out of this habit, but he sneaks up to my head after I’ve fallen asleep!

He has a bed in our living room, but I confess… it was a gift from the mother-in-law and I am not at all in love with the cow print fabric… Would be excellent to win a posh, good-looking replacement!

Doggone it! Our dog Driggs, a supercute border collie, loves to fall asleep sprawled out just about anywhere he feels like it. I’d say his favorite spot is on a super hot day (the hotter the better) laid out on our driveway. He literally bakes in the sun, and he loves it! Sometimes we get a bit concerned, because it literally looks like he’s dead the way he lays out, but he’s just sunbathing. These dog beds are awesome! Our current one is brown & boring – ugh.

My dog doesn’t sleep in strange places, but she always insists on having a pillow on which to rest her head. We have a small ikea loveseat that she considers to be “Izzy’s couch” and lays on it, often with her head resting on the wooden arm rests.

    DOGGONE IT!

Our pup is now an outside-only pooch since we moved from a huge house in Spokane to a teeny house in Sacramento… so now he just likes to dig holes in the dirt to lay in (grrr…) but when he was an indoor dog his favorite place was underneath the dining room table. It was his “safe place” besides his crate when we had company.

DOGGONE IT, so doggone cute! I have two furkids who keep me laughing at their personalities and individual choices. Riley, my cute lil papillon is all over the place – such a character: sleeps on your shoulders while you are sitting, wraps himself around your head at night, hides in his Lair (under the ottoman in the bedroom). Rainey, chiweenie rescue loves to lay under the covers, sucked right up next to you…must be 100+ degrees and no air…doesn’t bother her a bit. The two of them together love to lay wound up in circles in a dog bed for two….cutest thing you ever did see. Oh, and my two cats: Striker and Scout: sleep curled up in sinks, dryers (better look before you turn it on) open luggage, boxes…they are like a mini animal circus!

DOGGONE IT! Our pomeranian likes to crawl under our covers, and then poke her head to sleep like a real person. She can only sleep like this for no more than 15 minutes before she gets hot and crawls out, but it’s routine that she must start off in this position.

    Bonus Question:

My dog loves to sleep in a very specific corner of our couch. He’s a big dog so he can’t really fit many other places in our small condo, but he will walk up to my husband and stare at him until he moves out of his precious corner. Ridiculous, but it’s more ridiculous that my husband will actually move for him.

My baby Ginger (3 yr old Pomeranian) loves to sleep on our cushy rug by the front door. How – now that’s what’s funny! She has to back up her rear end against the door all proper like, and then it is time to sleep. It can be on her tummy or on her back – her hiney just has to be against that door! She won’t let any of us sneak out without her knowing it.

Dakota likes to sleep on the throw blankets I bought for her – sometimes she’ll have them all balled up, other times I’ll come home from work and she’ll have spread one out like she had a picnic while I was away. It’s fun to watch her “redecorate” and move them around to please her tastes from day to day!
