Fab Freebie: Boys In The Yard

After lots of love proclamations for NSYNC, NKOTB and more, random.org has survived boy-band-mania and crowned our winner as… Megan G (who says she loves the original boy band…The Beatles). Congrats Megan!

In the spirit of a week of cleaning & organizing, who could use a new lawn mower to tidy things up outside? Well, someone’s getting this puppy (valued at $339) thanks to Lawn-Boy. It’s self propelled, easy to start, and features a “Blade Stop” system that allows you to turn off the blades without killing the engine, which comes in handy if you’ve got a lawn frequently peppered with sticks or toys (not that I’m speaking from experience or anything).

    That’s an easy one….. New Kids on the Block. I was in love. In fifth grade. By seventh grade I was embarrassed about it. Haha!!

    OH BOY!
    I can admit that I was a fan of N’Sync AND Backstreet Boys…but the even better story is that my my dad (who turns 68 next month) has both bands on his ipod. He only has a few songs on there and mostly classical or oldies…except for those boy bands!

    OH BOY!

    My current push mower is a rotary one, and it’s a dull one too. Unfortunately it’s not the kind I can resharpen. So until we move out of the big yard later this year, I spend too much time mowing!

    (and yes, I’m ignoring that whole “boy band” question — ick!)

    OH BOY! Just thinking about this question reminds me of my sheltered childhood where I couldn’t listen to NKOTB as a second-grader but my mom was gracious enough to let me buy a pin to wear in the “I love Donnie” club at school. :-)

    OH BOY! Backstreet Boys all the way! *NSYNC just wasn’t as cool (though of course I secretly had pictures of Justin Timberlake in my notebook and learned all the moves to “Bye, Bye, Bye”, shh!).

    This is waaaaaay back, but I really loved New Edition (“Cool It Now….”) back in the day. Ten-year-old Bobby Brown was so cute!

    OH BOY! Was there any other boy band after New Kids? Pretty sure all the rest were just copy cats. Although summer after freshman year of college, my co-worker at the greenhouse was a hardcore, thirtysomething momfan who OBSESSED over Backstreet Boys. First time ever I could actually sing all the words to a song on the radio, purely because she listened to them incessantly.

    P.S. We just bought a house and my blistered thumb says we need a lawnmower that doesn’t require holding the drive box with one hand in order for the lever to work with the on the other. And my bruised hand does not like yanking the beast around corners.

    OH BOY!

    The Backstreet Boys! My friend and I had a “hangout room” in her house, which was really just a closet, where we wallpapered the walls with their pictures from teen magazines!

    I love Hanson!! (do they count as a boy band?) Always loved them, always will :)

    I also love some NKOTB – my friends surprised me with a weekend in Chicago and a NKOTB concert for my bachelorette party. Front row, and I swear to you that Joey looked right at me! We had a moment :)

    OH BOY!! New Kids on the Block was the first tape I ever bought, but I was a pretty big Backstreet Boys and NSync fan in middle school. Hard to believe it now!
