After lots of love proclamations for NSYNC, NKOTB and more, random.org has survived boy-band-mania and crowned our winner as… Megan G (who says she loves the original boy band…The Beatles). Congrats Megan!
In the spirit of a week of cleaning & organizing, who could use a new lawn mower to tidy things up outside? Well, someone’s getting this puppy (valued at $339) thanks to Lawn-Boy. It’s self propelled, easy to start, and features a “Blade Stop” system that allows you to turn off the blades without killing the engine, which comes in handy if you’ve got a lawn frequently peppered with sticks or toys (not that I’m speaking from experience or anything).

Favorite boy band…well, NKTOB was more my era, and although my best friend slept with a picture of Joey imprinted on her pillowcase, I’ve got to say Jackson 5 was more my style. I’ll Be There and Up on the Housetop are classics!

I am not sure about the new bands out there, I just started hearing about One Direction and all of my middle school students (I am a teacher). I still love the older ones like NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and especially New Kids, I wore my overalls like them and had a lunch box and a nightgown. I thought I was going to marry Joey….BUT we can’t forget another great one….BOYZ II Men!!!

Could I use this mower? You betcha! I’m a beyond middle-aged woman who still cuts her own lawn — and I inherited my current mower from MY father — who died in 1994! So it’s bound to be (as am I) on the far side of its useful life.
And as to boy bands — I have to go way back to my own youth and say THE BEATLES! After all, they WERE boys in 1963!

Oh BOY!! Was I a HUGE fangirl of Nsync and Backstreet Boys. In fact, I loved ALL boy bands, having been a little bitty girl and singing to “Step by Step” (NKOTB) with my older cousins. Just last night on our way home, me and my 3-year old son were jamming out to One Direction’s “You don’t know you’re Beautiful” hit. Until we changed the channel and it was on again, to which my he son replied, “Not again!”. lol I don’t think he’s going to share my fondness for boy bands.

OH BOY! My first love was Joey from New Kids on the Block. I had the sleeping bag, the big pin on my jacket and a heart shaped puzzle that had his face on it. I even taped it together so I didn’t have to always put it together to look at.

OH BOY! I was a *N Sync fan and saw them in concert with a friend in Middle School. My sister was an NKOTB fan and shared a birthday with Jordan so we had everything from the board game to the bed sheets. It was crazy. :-) And my husband needs a mower because he keeps fixing ours and it keeps breaking. :-)
