Fab Freebie: Artist’s Block

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

This next giveaway came to us as a nursery-themed giveaway, but personally we think Numsi‘s uniquely mod art is suitable for walls of any age. Their contemporary patterns (or custom text) is printed on canvas and then mounted on a 2″ deep birch museum frame to give it some modern dimension and bring some pop to you art collection.

Numsi Text

Plus, since the deep birch plywood cradle makes these blocks of art so sturdy, they can hang on the wall, sit on a shelf or anchor your latest mantlescape. So have some fun browsing their collection of animals and vehicles or patterns and text, because one of you is taking away a $100 credit towards anything on Numsi’s site this week (and the rest of you are taking away a sweet discount).

Numsi Animals Patterns

Here’s how to enter this week:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything from Numsi.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLOCK ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … since we’re referencing writer’s block, why not share a tip that you use to overcome any creativity or productivity block. Do you go someplace special to help you focus? Got an mental exercise to get your juice flowing again? Or do just go do something else and hope the motivation finds you again later.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, May 19th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    BLOCK ME!

I make a timetable every evening for the next day so that when I start in the morning I exactly know what to do and how much time I have for every step. For the writing process itself, I make myself a cup of tea before I get started and also set timers to help me concentrate. Also, regularly doing sports (I like going to the gym as well as inline skating outside) helps when you sit at your desk all day.

    BLOCK ME…

The best way for me to overcome any kind of creativity block is to visit my local stationery or fabric store. Something about all the patterns and colors and seeing how they mix together — on paper or fabric — always inspires me. I’ve been known to hold onto paper scraps and fabric swatches for years and years, just for use as inspiration.

My writers block tip is to just write something. Sometimes it’s just what thoughts are bouncing around my head. I think it is intimidating looking at the little blinking cursor… So get that cursor moving!

    BLOCK ME

I find my creative ideas usually ruminate in my brain for a while and make themselves come together. When I finally sit down to do something about it and it’s just not there or there’s an element missing, I need to leave the table. But I leave everything set up. Usually this means I’m working on an art project, so I leave everything out which is a visual reminder for me and I can problem solve while I’m doing other things around the house.
    seems to work.
