Fab Freebie: A Splash Of Color

*** This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After quite a color-filled few days here on YHL, random.org has selected our winner as… Daffodil (whose kitchen gets almost zero natural light, so she painted it a cheerful bright yellow). Congrats! And I think we have an idea of what color sink you might be choosing…

Jonathan Adler has been a big inspiration to us lately, especially as we learn to embrace more color in this house than our first one. And as excited as we were by his new color-filled collaboration with Kohler, we were even MORE excited when Kohler agreed to give one of you a new kitchen sink and faucet to the tune of nearly $3,000 in value. So what’ll it be? Do you want the poppy yellow apron sink for your kitchen? A cool aqua double-sink for your basement wet bar? Or maybe a deep single sink in navy? The choice is all yours.

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway

And since a sink isn’t much good without a faucet, Kohler’s gonna let you choose from three of their favorite styles in any available finish: the Purist, the Cruette, or the Simplice. Whatever choice you make, something tells me that doing dishes is going to be a lot cheerier around someone’s house very soon…

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway Faucets

  • PRIZE: A new kitchen sink from the Kohler Colors Featuring Jonathan Adler collection, plus a new faucet. A potential prize value of nearly $3,000!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “ADLER ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how are you currently bringing color into your kitchen? Did you pick a bold paint color for the walls? Do you like a vase of fresh flowers on the counter? Or do you often find that the most colorful thing in your kitchen is your latest culinary creation?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 25th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kohler.

ADLER ME! We’re re-doing our kitchen right now, and I just finalized the color palette: olive green cabinets, grey-blue walls, and a strange greeny-yellow accent color.

I have a neutral kitchen and I bring color in with accessories – towels, wall hangings (lots of vintage plates), cannisters, small ceramic details, etc. I also like to display my serving pieces in the background of everything. The kitchen is currently peppered with the colors of the sea – blue, green, and turquoise. At other times I have gone all shades of yellow (from ochre to the palest lemon) and also gone completely “strawberry” – that theme started with strawberry-shaped ceramic cannisters from a yard sale, and talking my mom into giving me some of her accents from her strawberry-themed kitchen from back when she was married.

Our kitchen is currently BRIGHT blue, so there’s plenty of color in it already. Now our task is finding accessories to go with the wall color!

We have been eating some colorful salads this summer since it’s been too hot to cook most of the time but the big pop of color in our kitchen is our backsplash which is painted a sort of Tiffany blue color that was left over from another house project. At some point we will tile that area but it’s fine for now.

ADLER ME!!!! We just sold our house and will be moving in the next couple of weeks. I have fallen in LOVE with yalls kitchen and cannot wait to lighten up our kitchen with vibrate bright colors. I am learning paint goes a long way to make a house a home. Would LOVE a bright yellow sink and new faucet since our existing sink looks to be from the 70’s. :)

My husband feel in love with Fiestaware when we were registering for our wedding stuff. I pooh poo’d it and we got something else. Within a year I hated our new stuff – scratched too easily and decided to pick up a set of Fiestaware dishes. We have many now and they fit our style. Love the color they bring to our kitchen and dining room. Sometimes husbands know best!

We are currently working on adding color to the second floor. The pops of color that are added to the kitchen are usually found in the mix of cruelty-free and non-cruelty-free meals I make for me and my husband. Take last night for example, I made a lovely mix of wheat pasta, green peas, red sauce, white meat, with a side of orange sweet potatoes, and quinoa (say keen-wa)! Is that not the most beautiful DO IT YOURSELF color palette to date? :)

    Thanks for your inspiration!!!

We’re (husband, toddler and baby on the way) actually planning to move into my mom’s house to help her out since my dad died last month. The house needs some serious updating (that we’ll be doing) so the house will essentially be a blank slate for us. We’re exciting but quite nervous about such a large undertaking.

Most of my kitchen is white with a pine wood island, but I have a baker’s rack that I use for storage of my collection of ceramic and ironstone bowls in various colors of blue, green and white and a shelf with a variety of ceramic pitchers in similiar colors. I am looking forward to a remodel however since this kitchen is nearly 20 years old, so a new sink would really rock!

Something we fought for in my kitchen when building the house was colored cabinets. I love wood but it’s a timber frame house so I’m surrounded by it and thought that natural wood cabinets would just be too much. So we went with a great teal color. Of course all guys hate them but everyone else seem to love them.

We just bought our house last year, and slowly we are doing our best to make it a home! And the Kitchen is one of the rooms that we are still debating on what to do! We already painted the old cabinets white. I also tried painting a trellis stencil on the window treatment. But I still am not “happy” of the result! Then, I saw this post! COLOR! this is what we need in our kitchen needs! I would love to win these give away! I would like to have the cool aqua double sink with the purist faucet! Thank you so much!

My color splashes in the kitchen are around the Annapolis color actually. We’re still finding pieces that work, but we have totally been breaking out the spray paint with some thrift store finds for on top of the cabinets, but that sink would totally rock my kitchen!! It all started with a paint swatch at Lowe’s. The love of my life picked up one for the gray & white combo passing by on our way to look at doors. I fell in love with the pop of brilliant teal, so it inspired the kitchen overhaul earlier than planned. Yeehaw!

So now the walls are neutral and I’m having a blast adding bright pops of aqua blues everywhere! I’m doing ruffle fabric curtains, and eventually painting my island aqua
