Fab Freebie: A Splash Of Color

*** This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After quite a color-filled few days here on YHL, random.org has selected our winner as… Daffodil (whose kitchen gets almost zero natural light, so she painted it a cheerful bright yellow). Congrats! And I think we have an idea of what color sink you might be choosing…

Jonathan Adler has been a big inspiration to us lately, especially as we learn to embrace more color in this house than our first one. And as excited as we were by his new color-filled collaboration with Kohler, we were even MORE excited when Kohler agreed to give one of you a new kitchen sink and faucet to the tune of nearly $3,000 in value. So what’ll it be? Do you want the poppy yellow apron sink for your kitchen? A cool aqua double-sink for your basement wet bar? Or maybe a deep single sink in navy? The choice is all yours.

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway

And since a sink isn’t much good without a faucet, Kohler’s gonna let you choose from three of their favorite styles in any available finish: the Purist, the Cruette, or the Simplice. Whatever choice you make, something tells me that doing dishes is going to be a lot cheerier around someone’s house very soon…

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway Faucets

  • PRIZE: A new kitchen sink from the Kohler Colors Featuring Jonathan Adler collection, plus a new faucet. A potential prize value of nearly $3,000!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “ADLER ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how are you currently bringing color into your kitchen? Did you pick a bold paint color for the walls? Do you like a vase of fresh flowers on the counter? Or do you often find that the most colorful thing in your kitchen is your latest culinary creation?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 25th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kohler.

Adler me! We have color in our kitchen from ugly counter tops that are hunter green. BOO! So I tried to hide them as much as possible by using a bright green (a little less yellow than yours) paint on the walls. I think it has helped to take away from the ugly counter tops until we have a chance to replace them.

    ADLER ME!

Bringing color into our kitchen has been hard. We rent, and we’re not allowed to paint, so we’ve been finding ways to compliment the sort of “blah” yellow and very old fixtures and appliances we have here with lots of colorful classic and retro treasures- everything from framed prints, blue salt shakers, aqua pots and pans and a polka dotted table cloth in the tiny breakfast nook! That aqua sink would look great! :)

We chose a bold paint color for the kitchen walls to contrast with our light cabinet color and white appliances. It is a burnt orange-y color called “cayenne pepper” (I think). As always, thanks for the opportunity to win something.

When we bought our house almost a year ago it was colorful for sure, but none of the colors made sense to us. Now we’ve managed to paint most of the areas that were in need of a new color. The kitchen was especially a mess with two shades of orange separated by the chair railing. Now, we have a bold, dark maroon color on the top (above the chair railing) and a warm beige color on the bottom. The kitchen looks much better, and the colors really compliment the interesting choice of countertop the previous owners chose.

I’ve been trying to bring in color with little stuff. A nice picture, some colorful dishtowels, cute vases. I moved into my husband’s family house, and apparently there’s strict rules when it comes to changing the kitchen. The worst one? It has to be yellow. Not just any yellow, oh no. But this weird pale butter color. :( Nothing against yellow, but I’ve always dreamed of a blue kitchen. One day, though. Looking to buy our own house, and when we do, there will be a rule: No yellow in the kitchen!

Adler Me!! I’ve always loved and used strong color in my kitchen – usually in my accessories and utensils. In the house we are currently renting? There is a red wall that I can’t touch. Now that I’ve seen it both ways, I’ve proven I love to get my color in smaller doses!

Hmmm, there are a few places we could use a new sink and a pop of color! Our house was built in 1915 and we are slowly re-doing the rooms. Not exactly remodeling – just fun stuff like electrical and plumbing. A fancy new sink in our soon to be basement bath or open plan laundry/play/office/exercise area would be a huge improvement on the plastic wash tub:)
    Fingers crossed!!
