Fab Freebie: A Splash Of Color

*** This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After quite a color-filled few days here on YHL, random.org has selected our winner as… Daffodil (whose kitchen gets almost zero natural light, so she painted it a cheerful bright yellow). Congrats! And I think we have an idea of what color sink you might be choosing…

Jonathan Adler has been a big inspiration to us lately, especially as we learn to embrace more color in this house than our first one. And as excited as we were by his new color-filled collaboration with Kohler, we were even MORE excited when Kohler agreed to give one of you a new kitchen sink and faucet to the tune of nearly $3,000 in value. So what’ll it be? Do you want the poppy yellow apron sink for your kitchen? A cool aqua double-sink for your basement wet bar? Or maybe a deep single sink in navy? The choice is all yours.

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway

And since a sink isn’t much good without a faucet, Kohler’s gonna let you choose from three of their favorite styles in any available finish: the Purist, the Cruette, or the Simplice. Whatever choice you make, something tells me that doing dishes is going to be a lot cheerier around someone’s house very soon…

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway Faucets

  • PRIZE: A new kitchen sink from the Kohler Colors Featuring Jonathan Adler collection, plus a new faucet. A potential prize value of nearly $3,000!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “ADLER ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how are you currently bringing color into your kitchen? Did you pick a bold paint color for the walls? Do you like a vase of fresh flowers on the counter? Or do you often find that the most colorful thing in your kitchen is your latest culinary creation?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 25th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kohler.

ADLER ME! Our kitchen has actual vintage green ceramic tile we got for less than $1/SF at a long time family tile business here in baltimore. It has black swirls which go perfectly with our black granite countertops and light colored (soon to be painted even lighter) cabinets.

Our kitchen walls and cabinets are white with black granite counter tops. We add color with a red table cloth in the nook, a bright colored kettle on the stove, and bold dish towels.

    ADLER ME!

When we moved in to our house, I painted all our oak cabinets white in the kitchen and added nickle hardware. THEN I painted all the walls green – close to the darker green in the adler pallet above. We can’t wait to update the counters and maybe do a nice tile backsplash someday but the color on the walls contrasting our white cabinets have made the room feel nice and fresh for now. I love going bold with colors in my house! Yay!

I try to buy pots and pans that are a little bit colorful. It keeps my kitchen hardware looking clean and simple, but still brightens the room up.

Adler Me! We have an open floor plan and feel like our color palette needs to work in the whole space, so it’s hard to bring in a bright pop that still goes with the action in the living room without it feeling too matchy-matchy, but you can’t see the sink from the living room so this would let us do something unexpected and fun without ruining the overall look! Perfect!

WOW! Single basin sink all the way; the rest I’d have to really think about (color and faucet style!)… WOW! Did I already say “WOW!”??

Currently we’ve got a cheerful sky blue wall color in the kitchen with cobalt and red pops in vases and aprons that are hanging here and there.

First off, that double sink is HUGE! I’m thinking that would be pretty awesome for a laundry room.

As for color in the kitchen, I use it with flower arrangements in colorful vases. :) I’m especially a fan of sunflowers in the kitchen!

No, Seriously. We need this like Katie B needs bacon!!! Our current kitchen is a dismal color flop – all builder’s flat and dirty white. Blahhhhhh. I bring color in with peacock blue glasses on the window sill and ombre paper “mobile” curtains I made. That blue sink was made for me!!!

Actually, I’m often prone to having too much color in every room, and have lately been trying to tone it down. Decorative plates, fresh flowers, tea towels, wall paint, backsplash. It sounds like a circus, but with a white cabinet base, the robin’s egg blue and olive are subtle and inviting.

This, however, would be the perfect focal point in a slightly more sophisticated space!
