Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

  • PRIZE: A custom pet painting from Leslie Devito Paintings up to 20″ x 20″ in size (a $500 value)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT MY PET!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what pet you’d want painted. And while you’re at it, what’s one thing that makes your pet especially lovable, weird, loyal, or just generally fun to have around?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada
  • DISCOUNT: 15% off any order when you mention YHL with your order (through October 15th)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lesli Devito.

PAINT MY PET! I have a german short-haired pointer who loves to cuddle and point at EVERYTHING!! She is impossible to walk because she points at anything that moves!

PAINT MY PETS! I have two pugs, and the greeting I get from them everyday I come home just melts my heart!

PAINT MY PET!! My darling kitty passed away and I still miss her every day. She was such a good friend who I had from age 10 to 24.

Paint my pet! Sita is my much beloved long haired chihuahua. He follows me everywhere and I don’t know what I’d do without him.

PAINT MY PET! I have an adorable yellow lab/beagle mix named Huxtable. He loves to roll on his back in the grass; our walks always take a little longer because he finds a nice spot to flop down and take a good roll.

  2. Angie says

Paint my pet! It would have to be my ‘baby’ Queenie the pug! (she’s the only other girl in the house with me, since my four two legged babies were all boys!!!)

      Paint my pet!
My cute little doggie would be the subject. She’s slightly addicted to tennis balls and ice cubes!

  3. Rachael says

    PAINT MY PET!

I would like my boxer, Phoebe painted. Why? Because she’s the worst dog in the world. In a good way. In a “Marley and Me” kind of way.

  4. Stephanie says

    PAINT MY PET!

I would have to get both of my pups painted. My four year old Maltipoo likes to wipe her feet on the carpet and my 11 week old Aussiedoodle has a knack for torturing her sister :)

  5. Erin says

Paint my pet! I would love to win this and have it be suprise present for my sister. She is just so in love with her fur babies!

  6. Ashley says

    PAINT MY PET…

I’d have our sweet lab/golden mix painted. She lets the whole family man-handle her and loves all the attention.

    Paint my pet!

My family lost our beloved dog last year after 11 incredible years. We hope she was as happy with us as we were with her. I’d love to have a painting of her as a reminder of all the good times we shared.

  8. Adam says

PAINT MY PET! I would paint my dog, Biscuit. Biscuit is a typical lazy, old dog but a great companion that we rescued from a shelter. Gotta’ love shelter dogs!

    PAINT MY PET!!!!

I would love to get a portrait of my beautiful chiweenie (chi/dachshund mix) Ethel. She is the type of dog that is just your shadow, plus she’s great with both our five month and five year old. Man do i love that little bugger. Mutts #1!

  10. Karena Del Sarto says

Paint my pet! I’d love to have my dog Hurley painted. He’s a Lab / German Shepherd mix and I love that he’s happy to be my running and hiking buddy.

Paint my pet, please! We have two dogs or duh as our one-year-old daughter likes to call them. Our big guy is a counter surfer, always looking for some food item to steal. We love/hate, well mostly hate that habit. And our lady dog lets our little girl snuggle into her. She’s such a good girl.
