And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?
Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. PAINT MY PET! A Chihuahua- med hair , caramel with a white strip up his nose. So cute! I’m biased!
Paint my Pet!!! I’d want my sweet pup, Duncan, to be painted. He’s just so awkwardly adorable!

Paint My Pet! Emma is our beloved english cocker spaniel. Emma and I have been together since before my hubs and two boys so she is very dear to me. In fact, she gives out hugs on command (loops paws around your neck – no kidding).

PAINT MY PET! I’d love to do this with a picture of my labrador retriever Morgan!
PAINT MY PET! Lola – my adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix. We already have a portrait of her older Boxer brother, and would love another that captures her feisty lovableness!
PAINT MY PET! If possible, I would want a painting of my two female cats. They are so sweet. We rescued them both from shelters. I never thought I was a cat person (I always grew up with dogs), but for some reason, this little one year old calico named Brooke caught my eye at Petco. Now she has a “sister” named Phoebe, who is a tiny half-siamese gray tabby cat. Brooke is lovable because she likes to lick your face like a dog. It kinda hurts with her barbed tongue, but it’s still cute! Phoebe is lovable because she curls up in my lap every night before bed. It’s her little routine!
PAINT MY PET!
My ever-so photogenic dachshund is always so excited to eat treats. He rolls around on them before chowing down
PAINT MY PET PULEEEEEZE!!!
I would love to have my Beagle/Jack Russell mix, “Howie”, painted. He is the best dog ever because he tries so hard to be good. (He is not always successful, but he gets points for trying!) Also, because he is scary-genius smart.
PAINT MY PET! I have a short haired black cat named Leon. He is pretty unusual because he is so vocal. If you say something to him, he will loudly meow back. And he gets really noisy around dinner time!
Paint my pet! I’d love a portrait of my dachshund, Carl! He’s super cuddly and loves to snuggle under blankets!
PAINT MY PET! For our 7 year old Black lab, Cooper, who freaks out everytime the UPS truck drives by (he knows the difference between that truck and all the other traffic).
PAINT MY PET! It would be my pityful English bulldog. Since having a human child, her life has never been the same.
Paint my pet!
My parents dog Simba died last year, a painting would be a great memory of the best dog in the world (at least for them).
“PAINT MY PET!” I would love a picture of Chewy, our 6 month old Bishon/Shiz Tsu mix. He is the absolute light of our lives.. He keeps us moving, important in a house of empty nesters! He truly IS a part of our family!
Paint my Pet!
I have two West Highland Terriers that I adore because of their completely unique, yet totally different personalities. Dezzy is your more reserved terrier who we often refer too as emo, while Ollie is our fearless terrier who doesn’t let anything get him down. Both are lovers through and through.
PAINT MY PET! our cat who loves my husband more tan me, even though i was the one who pushed to get a cat.
PAINT MY PET! My dog Homer, who is not around anymore, was like a child to me. Would love to have this picture of him.
Paint my pet!!! I would love to have a painting of my beloved pomeranian, Lola!! She has such a great personality and is always smiling! Oneof her favorite things is going to the lake and swiming or hanging out with the “big” dogs in our family, I swear she has no idea that she is only 7 pounds…

Paint my pet! Calamity the Schnoodle is a rescued schnauzer poodle mix, who came by her name honest – by surviving being nursed through parvovirus at home with us. Thankfully the name is not predictive. Now, at six years old, she is the snugliest permanent-puppy around… with one notable weakness. Every few weeks she becomes convinced that our lemon tree is a tennis ball tree, and will sit beneath it for hours growling and yapping and jumping, hoping that another tennis ball will fall. Eventually one does, and she is bitterly disappointed all over again when she discovers it is a lemon. Then the memory fades, and my perpetual-puppy sits again in hope beneath the tree. Please paint Calamity and the tennis ball tree of her dreams.
PAINT MY PET! Coco is a sweet thing who loves everybody.

Paint my pet! I’d have my dog Biscuit painted. She constantly makes me laugh/drives me crazy. You can’t get ice out of the freezer without her coming running from whatever room she’s in to get a cube.
PAINT MY PET! Our family dog just passed away and this would be a perfect tribute!

PAINT MY PET! I’d have our Boxer, Tucker (aka “The Pookins”) painted. He has such a personality and brings us joy everyday. Last night, playing with his rawhide, he ran upstairs, ran downstairs, threw it in the air, and lunged after it like it was getting away from him, for at least 20-30 minutes. So funny!
Paint my Pet!
Our dog survived abuse, the death of her friend, trauma and god-knows-what-else before adopting us.
PAINT MY PET!!
I have two kittys, I could never pick between the two…they’d both have to make an appearance!
Lisa M says
PAINT MY PET! I would have my dog Venus painted. She is so insanely smart. She has learned all our words and euphemisms for “walk”, always gets excited after dinner because she knows that’s when it happens, and even gets excited when she sees tennis shoes after dinner because she knows that means a walk!
Paint my pet! I would love to have my two kitties, Zoe and Pete, painted!
PAINT MY PET BENNY! He’s the sweetest, most cuddly dog in all of the land! :) He’s the light of our lives and we are so blessed because we’re his doggie parents. He is truly a human stuck in a dog’s body!
PAINT MY PET!!! I have an adorably doofus-y yellow lab named Homer. I “inherited” Homer from my grandmother after she passed and no one else in the family wanted to take him on. Now I couldn’t imagine like without him.

PAINT MY PET! I have a 4 year old boxer who runs our house and has recently (9 months ago) had to adjust to being a big brother and he’s done SO well!
Paint my pet! I would have my boy Nugget painted. He’s a basset-doxie-poo that we rescued from the side of the highway and he is awesome. Someone abused him and cut his canine teeth in half (!!) and despite all this he is loveable and fierce protector of our 2 girls.
Thanks from Canada!
PAINT MY PET!!
Oscar is my five month old puppy, he was a rescue and I had no idea what I was doing but had to bring him home. He is quite adorable (what puppy isn’t?!) but his personality is what everyone loves. I live downtown so we walk around town quite a bit and I have on more than one occasion been approached and asked if this was Oscar because a roommate, friend, family member came home and talked about him. It cracks me up each time it happens.
Paint my Pet! We have a lovely, fun black lab who lights up our home and tolerates my grouchiness when we lose yet another round of trying to have a baby. Props go out to the world’s best dog!
PAINT MY PET. My hound-dog Ringo is the grumpiest dog I ever met. He’s doesn’t like to be petted when he’s tired or hungry or eating, so basically never. I should also state, he’s actually my husband’s dog.
PAINT MY PET! My Springer Spaniel, Max, offers his paw to ANYONE he meets. He could shake hands with people all day and be in seventh heaven. He’s been with us through thick and thin and is ridiculously in-tune when it comes to picking up on our emotions.
PAINT MY PET! I have a Coton de Tulear named Zoe Paige, and she is the love of my family’s life. Zoe loves McDonalds hamburgers, hates men in hats, and – the cutest thing ever – cocks her head when you’re talking to her, like she’s really trying to understand what you’re saying. I just love her so much!

Paint My Pet!!!
My dog Malie is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet (ok besides Burger!). She’s protective but once she knows you’re ok, she’ll just lick ya to death. She’s the best dog we’ve ever had and we can’t imagine her not in our family :)
paint my pet! i love lesli!
i have two dogs so choosing one would be hard, but one of them is oder, 12, and may not last as long so even though the other is more my compadre, i think iwould choose charlie since i may not have as much time left with him.
PAINT MY PET! our dearly departed elderbull Lady, there is nothing in the world like that silly pit bull grin to brighten up your day.
PAINT MY PET! I have a white Standard Poodle named Beauregard and he is the most handsome Standard I’ve ever seen-though I’ll admit, I’m biased!!! He is full of character and oh so quirky. He just turned 7 but loves to play and has as much energy as a puppy. He also LOVES to give my 4 year old gentle high-fives.
PAINT MY PET!! Would have to be my dog, Daisy. She’s a fun-loving and energetic boxer, who wags her whole body not just her tail :-)
PAINT MY PET! Our son has a cockapoo that is the best dog in Colorado. I’m hoping all that cuteness helps him find a dog-loving’ girlfriend. :)

I would have our sweet yorkie Lola painted… She’s the best! she turned one on her bday last week, the same day as Burger!!
Paint my pet! We just rescued a lab/Great Dane mix that we found running on the highway. She is the sweetest dog and my husband, who never wants ANYTHING, has fallen totally in love with her and asked that we keep her. I’d love to have a painting for him to keep!
PAINT MY PET!
My dog Sammy is terrified of the sound that tarps and flags make.
PAINT MY PET!!! My Zoe-bear. A designer mutt, (schnoodle), but oh so smart.
Lindsey Gillespie says
PAINT MY PET! My mom’s dog Sophie is a spaz, but really I’d love this because my mom was out of work when we got Sophie and she really helped her over a tough time so I think she’d really love it!
PAINT MY PAINT!
I would have our dog Bo painted — he is the biggest cuddler, and (on the rare occasions that we let him onto the bed), he loves to lay his head down on the pillow right next to you.
Paint mY PET!I would love to have both of my fur babies painted. I have a 5 year old maltese & a 2 year old Wheatzer.. They fight like brothers often do & they are always into mischief.

PAINT MY PET! I would have our one and only pet painted – out lovable mantle great dane names Heidi. She’s the antithesis of what an almost 4 year old great dane should be – calm, relaxed, chill, easy going.
She’s as hyper as a terrier, and still loves to play. She loves to destoy bones and stand with her front paws on your shoulders to “hug”, and we playfully call her chunkerbottoms. So far it hasn’t given her a complex :) We just love her to pieces and can’t imagine our little family without her.
