You Might Want To Sit Down

This is one of the most comparable product features we’ve ever done. And it’s one that’s close to our heart. You see, we registered for two of these chic and totally versatile slipper chairs from Target (where else?) and received them as wedding presents from the fam. Fabulous- and oh so comfortable (especially with a snuggly sheepskin casually draped on top). Here’s one of ours in action.

And thankfully they didn’t set our family back like most upholstered chairs could. Coming in at just $129.99 (with free shipping right now) they’re a total steal. Especially when you compare ’em to this almost identical slipper chair from West Elm for $599 (plus $35 for shipping). Admittedly, the latter is covered in leather, but I actually like the woven cross-hatched fabric of the Target version better (I’m a sucker for texture, what can I say). Might be a personal preference, but for a difference of around $500, it seems like a no-brainer.

I LOVE finding deals like that! I’m a sucker for bargains. And it just goes to show – you don’t need a lot of money to achieve great style!

Thanks for posting this! I bought it without thinking twice (for once!) and I am so excited for it to get here. Luckily I had reference pics (via YHL) for my hubs and he had no complaints! :)

Cool beans Kristy. Congrats on your new chair! We love both of ours and once you get ’em put together and add a comfy pillow to the mix you’ll totally be in business. And be sure to sit on it a few times for a little while. When they come they tend to be a bit firm but they break in wonderfully after a few sessions of sitting. Now the one in our den is absolutely my favorite perch.

I just purchased the Dolce chair and have it all set up in our bedroom … but the legs are way to dark for my hardwood floors and dresser. It looks way off. Can I get away with painting the legs white to match my oversized mirror and nightstand? Thanks!

Definitely! Just sand them a bit, use oil-based primer on them, and follow that with a few coats of latex paint (bring home different swatches and hold them up to your mirror and nightstand to find the right one). Good luck!

My husband and I ordered two of these chairs and were so excited when we got them. However, ours are impossible to put together! The holes don’t seem to line up, so the screws won’t go in. It’s tough finding accent chairs under $200, so I don’t want to give up just yet, but we’re not sure what to do. Do you recall having any trouble with assembly?

So sorry! Ours went right together but it was a while ago when we got ours. We’ve heard varying reports about how hard or easy they are to put together. Anyone else have tips for Leigh Anne?
