We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is currently under construction. Our new addition is expected on May 19th. We’re thrilled, even though a certain someone won’t be the baby anymore…
Yup, Sherry’s got a proverbial bun in her proverbial oven. And we couldn’t be more elated to share the news with you guys! More details to follow on Friday (so ask any and all q’s and we’ll answer as many as we can at the end of the week).
Until then it’s back to before & afters and DIY ideas- we’re nothing if not home obsessed…

Now I know why you choose your basement to work on recently (I do hope John did most of the drylock!). You are going to need that space to store all that baby gear in a few years, as well as an area to store items that will not fit in upstairs during the days when a baby seems to take over every inch of your home and lives!

— Sherry, how did you break the news to John?
— Will you find out the gender of the baby or do you want to be surprised?
— Do you want the nursery to be gender neutral or trés boy/trés girl?
— Is the nursery going to have a theme (the jungle seems to be hugely popular in the baby stores) or have a modern flair like the rest of your home?
— Sherry, do you have a birth plan? Wanna’ go “au naturale” or have the help of modern medicine (epidural)?
— And of course, how has pregnancy been so far, Sherry?
I have many friends (and even a family member!) who will be new parents next spring, so you’ll be in good company!

Congrats! I am due May 8th and just announced it on my blog on Monday. How fun! Have you decided if you are going to find out? We’re not…..we want to wait for the surprise! We’re SO excited to decorate the nursery. We actually close on our first house on December 12th, so we have a LOT to do between now and the birth of the baby. Plus we’re moving to a new city and new jobs. Ahhhhhhh- craziness. You just have to embrace it, right?
I absolutely cannot wait to see what you do for the baby. And how cute it will be when it enters your life- you both are too adorable for it not to be just precious!! After finding out that we were expecting our first, everyone asks, “are you going to find out.” My husband trapped me one day in the car with a very strong argument on not finding out the sex of the baby. He said:
“I want to prepare our marriage for a baby, not a gender”
