Oh Brother! (Or Sister?)

We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is currently under construction. Our new addition is expected on May 19th. We’re thrilled, even though a certain someone won’t be the baby anymore…

BurgerBigBrother

Yup, Sherry’s got a proverbial bun in her proverbial oven. And we couldn’t be more elated to share the news with you guys! More details to follow on Friday (so ask any and all q’s and we’ll answer as many as we can at the end of the week).

Until then it’s back to before & afters and DIY ideas- we’re nothing if not home obsessed…

Congrats you guys, that’s awesome news!! And the last thing I expected to see when I logged on today! Hmm, I have a couple of questions…. will you find out what you’re having? Do you have baby names picked out? Congrats again, and best wishes with the pregnancy!

Of course I offer my congratulations along with everyone else, but I admit my first reaction was confusion (I thought you were getting another dog!) because of the recent Q&A for your blogiversary and you insisted you wouldn’t be having kids so soon. I hope this wasn’t just for the readers! ;)

And as wonderful as a new baby is, just please remember us young people who are happily child-less and keep the non-baby stuff there, too!

It’s funny to be so excited for people you don’t even know but CONGRATULATIONS! I have a few questions:
    1. Were you concerned about the dry-lock while pregnant?
    2. How did you tell the family?
    3. Any green pregnancy tips?

I have a four month old, born 07-08-09. Shortly after his birth, while perusing the internets on my trusty iPhone during a late night breastfeeding session, I found your blog and thought to myself: ‘these people need to never have children because they won’t ever have the time for this sh*t’…pardon the cussing, it was late at night and I was low…VERY LOW…on sleep at the time.

Fast forward a couple of months from his birth and my husband and I decided to take on the project of repainting our master bedroom walls and trim. It looks awesome if I do say so myself, but I have never sent any pictures to you because it still. isn’t. done. What, at one point in our lives, was a one weekend project, is now a 5-6 weekend project plus all the weekends afterwards to find time to finish up all the little tiny projects associated with this big one…like put-up-the-new-drapes-we-got or touch-up-the-ceiling-where-we-bumped-it.

Fast forward two more months to where we are now with only a few precious moments during the day to get anything done, and your announcement (which I somehow figured was coming) makes me wonder: with a blog this big, a house with so many projects AND a dog with his own blog. How do you plan to do it all?

Coasting anon in Roslindale, MA mt Little G who right now just woke up crying so I have to cut this short (believe it or not, I had more to say)

How excited am I get to follow your baking story along with the Bower’s baking story when we are steeped in our very own? Yes! When all the world has a different glow cast upon it in light of our world-changing journey into parenthood, some of my fav blogs will also see the world with the same glow.

New life no matter how common is always miraculous. We just watched our baby evade the sonogram papparazi (outstretched hand in face), and we cannot wait to hold our wee one. Congrats on your own!

Wonderful news… your house is about to get a whole new kind of lovin’! Enjoy the next 6 months and prepare to embrace “baby” as your new style for a while ~ totally worth it! As a new mom and one who loves to decorate and have a pretty home, I was really struck by this word of wisdom from a dear friend and mom of 3 teenage boys: “remember that you are raising children, not living rooms… so if you have to put away the silk pillows and glasstops for a season, but your children feel loved and welcome in their home, that is a beauty far more lasting!”
