We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.
The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.
(I’ll happily put on some sympathy weight – it’s the least I can do)
Burger, on the other hand, has no idea what’s going on. But he’s generally excited about life, so that’s nice.
Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!
Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

My boyfriend and I JUST pondered taking photos with a fake engagement ring over and over and saying “just kidding” everytime someone asked if it had happend so eventually it would be like The Boy Who Cried Wolf. :) I totally thought that about the wine too (but am sad to admit that because that makes me similar to those creepy internet trolls that get mad that she does things like this to throw them off)…

Congrats to all of you – and take it easy. I was so ill with both my girls – all the way through the first seven months when I finally could gain back the weight I lost and put some more on. It was worth it, but it is NOT fun to go through it.

Will you find out the gender?
What kind of monitoring will they do since you are high risk?
Will they want to induce or schedule you for a csection early?

My question is weird but practical..since you two are such planners with your home projects did you always plan/hope to have your children farther apart then some? I ask because my parents waited nearly four years between my brother and I so they could enjoy me (they say) and make paying for college easier in the future. Just curious if maybe ya’ll had a similar thought process.

I am absolutely over the moon excited for you guys! Perhaps it’s the hormones, because I’m pregnant too, and due in January, but I am really thrilled that your family is growing and that everyone seems to be excited about it. Well…everyone except Burger…lol.
I do have a sort of odd question though: My Yorkie started acting really strange not long after I found out I was pregnant. Having accidents in the house and just avoiding me a little more than usual. I’ve read that dogs can often tell when their owners are pregnant — or at least that something is going on — both from the physical and emotional changes that they can detect. Did you notice any changes in behavior from Burger when you were pregnant with Clara, or this time?
