We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.
The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.
(I’ll happily put on some sympathy weight – it’s the least I can do)
Burger, on the other hand, has no idea what’s going on. But he’s generally excited about life, so that’s nice.
Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!
Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

Have you heard of hypnobabies happy healthy baby meditation? It is wonderful and may be worth a listen during this pregnancy if you aren’t listening to it already :)
As Moms lots of unnecessary stressful thoughts creep into our heads, but this mp3/cd really puts those thoughts at ease. I enjoyed listening to it while pregnant.

I get nasty all day sickness when I’m pregnant too and making myself get out of bed to go to work was so hard! Is it tempting to just stay in bed all day? I mean you’re busy making a baby, John can take care of the biz.

I lay there for a while, have a date with the bathroom, and then hop up because I like to have Clara time in the morning. Then the blog posting time creeps up, so that keeps me busy, but there are many bathroom breaks throughout the day! I can’t really sleep when I’m nauseous, so I figure I might as well get things done (sometimes while under a blanket on the couch with the laptop on my lap).

Congratulations on your announcement.
To some extent, my wife and I live vicariously through this blog. Sometimes, at dinner, we catch ourselves talking about you guys like you’re living down the street.
Nevertheless, I wanted to let you know that I have the utmost respect for you two. It’s amazing to see you hold your heads up, even when some people are being jerks on the comment board.
I was flabbergasted by the photoshop comments. I almost hit the floor when I saw that link comparing the two photos. I get that people leaving comments are more or less faceless, so they sometimes say stupid things, but I don’t understand what compels certain people to be cruel.
I know your put yourselves out there for us all to see, but you are also real people, with real feelings. I felt stung by these comments on your behalf!
I argue that you kept it more real by photoshopping that picture. Everyone I’ve ever met does that! The program wouldn’t exist if people didn’t use it to change the way pictures looked.
Anyway, I hope that you continue to persevere through the nonsense that sometimes appears on these boards. I also hope you can see, that in the aggregate, this blog brightens the days of so many people.

I know, can you believe someone made a GIF of it? Seriously. I mean I think there is something missing in someone’s life if they are putting that much thought and effort into what someone’s stomach looks like in a photo. It’s just sad. But like you said, the good commenters outweigh the bad in huge numbers. And maybe the haters have now realized the errors of their ways.
Sherry & John, I don’t know how you do it, but you handle that stuff in such a classy way. You should sleep well at night. Well, except when you’re nauseous. Ugh. It’s the worst. Have you tried Preggie Pops? I think they helped me somewhat.

I had “morning” sickness my entire pregnancy and for MONTHS all I could eat was blueberries and pears.
