Now Expanding

We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.

Bean Clara

The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.

Bean Sherry

(I’ll happily put on some sympathy weight – it’s the least I can do)

Bean John

Burger, on the other hand, has no idea what’s going on. But he’s generally excited about life, so that’s nice.

Bean Burger

Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!

Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

    Congratulations!
I had my second child (born last fall) after a high risk pregnancy because of complications with my first child.

I know you will be nervous throughout and it’s easy to just say “don’t think about it” but try to enjoy it. Don’t let your worry rob you of the excitement! I will be thinking of you guys!!

CONGRATULATIONS!! I’m very happy for all of you! Coincidentally, I’m about a month and a half behind you in my pregnancy. Our first! Too early to tell anyone but family. I’m sure you’ll keep my secret ;) A question…my husband doesn’t think I should paint anything. We’re in the process of fixing the house and I’m home a lot and could do it. It’s no VOC paint too. Thoughts?

I read that thread from that post last week and let’s just say I’m sad I missed my chance to dog pile on in your defense. I did it for Katie and I would most def do it for yous guys too! People got some nerve! For real…smh. And just like I told Katie “Giiiiirl don’t let these haters sour your milk.” Just keep doin’ you boo! (NY Lynn is in full effect today haha)

I’ve been an avid reader for about 2 years now, but have never posted a comment. I am so happy for all of you, as it is truly a blessing to have your family grow.

I just had baby #3, 3 months ago and I love to read your posts during my feeding or pumping sessions!

What a joy that you are expecting alongside Katie B. too! I wish nothing but happiness and health through the pregnancy and delivery.

Questions – please share what you are compelled to share from your journey so far as well as whether you plan to find out the baby’s sex. For babies 1 and 2, they were surprises for us but with baby 3 we found out ahead of time!

First, CONGRATULATIONS on the baby boom!
I don’t think people realize how invasive and hurtful they are when they ask such personal questions. Why whether or not someone is pregnant is anyone’s business before it’s been announced I have no idea. I would hate to think people the purposely that crappy.
My husband and I have been married for 3 years and from the day we got married it started. I even had one person every time they saw me ask if I was pregnant yet. In reality we were struggling with fertility and then had a miscarriage. The crap “feel like you have the right to know” questions are horrible. I wish people thought about these kind of situations before question puke flew.
Ironically, we announced our pregnancy yesterday and I’m also due in April.
I hope the annoying people don’t piss on your happy day parade. You have every right to share YOUR news when you all decide it’s your time. Congratulations lady!

I seriously clapped my hands when I saw that first picture of Clara today :) Congratulations! You guys have been inspiring me (in home improvement and just general classiness) for a long time now, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this! Are you super thrilled that you and the Bowers will have another set of little ones the same age?

Congratulations!! Enjoy this new baby growing inside of you! My sister-in-law had a placenta rupture with triplets on Christmas day when she was 33 weeks pregnant. Her water broke at home and was full of blood. The hospital in her small town had never delivered multiples before. She was suppose to have a “planned” c-section at a large city hospital with a NICU. All three babies were great!! From the time her water broke to delivery was like 45 minutes. She saw her babies for a minute and then the angel trucks (NICU ambulances) whisked them away to a hospital with a NICU. She couldn’t see them for 3 days. My two nieces and nephew will be 10 years old this Christmas and are very healthy! We thank God all the time for the miracle of life, as I am sure you do too for your two sweet miracles!!

Weeee! That’s so wonderful! I quietly, to myself, and without any odd need to question you about it, wondered if you might be about a week or so ago. I’m thrilled for your family. I am also pregnant with my second (due in Jan) and have started getting the nursery ready so I’m VERY excited to go along with you on these journeys – both pregnancy and nursery decorating. I can’t wait to hear how you told Clara, her obviously adorable response, if you’ll find out the sex, what you might need to do differently since you’re walking into this knowing it’s high risk (praying it’ll be a walk in the park this time!), and all the other details. You guys are great. I’ve been reading for years, commented only once or twice, and am not one of the many who braved the Boston snowstorm to go see you guys. Still, strangers though we may be, I feel a kinship with ya. Good luck with this new awesome chapter, Petersiks!
