We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.
The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.
(I’ll happily put on some sympathy weight – it’s the least I can do)
Burger, on the other hand, has no idea what’s going on. But he’s generally excited about life, so that’s nice.
Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!
Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

1. While I am sure healthy, happy, baby is the top choice, are you hoping for a boy or a girl? Did John grow up with a sis and think thats the best combo? Or did you grow up always wishing you had a little brother? (ps. I have no idea what your sibling sitch is)
2. What does Clara want to name baby? I think I remember a post about some very creative names for her toys/imaginary friends, so I am really interested in these!
3. Will you be finding out before hand if its a boy or a girl?

Here a fun but a bit weird fact for you guys.
I started reading your blog when Sherry was pregnant with Clara. I was pregnant with my own little girl. We both had the same delivery date. But Clara came early and my little girl made us wait 2 extra week to come into our lives. But Clara and her have the same age with less than a month of difference. And now, you are announcing to the world your second pregnancy, and I’m pregnant also with another little girl that is due at the end of December. Her name has been picked with the input of her big sister and it will be Clara! The world seems smaller suddenly.

I do have a question that I have been wondering as this is something I worry about once I get pregnant; what precautions do you take when doing home renovation when you’re pregnant? I would be so worried about chemicals, fumes, etc. Do you limit yourself when you’re pregnant and/or have a newborn in the home?

Speaking of a c/s…and please feel free to not answer if it is too personal…will you be planning for a scheduled c/s since you’re high risk and because of the complications from last time? Or will you be trying for a vbac? Just genuinely curious because I ended up having a complicated c/s myself and it has left me scared to have another and even another baby for that matter. So, just curious what other mamas in complicated delivery situations do if they expand their family.
Will you be keeping the gender and name a surprise until Bean 2.0 is born?
