We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.
The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.
(I’ll happily put on some sympathy weight – it’s the least I can do)
Burger, on the other hand, has no idea what’s going on. But he’s generally excited about life, so that’s nice.
Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!
Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

I must say I have had a feeling for a little while now, and when you mentioned your “secret project” in your blogiversary, I was so excited.
However, I would NEVER have said anything. And having read some of the comments that have been posted recently (Photoshop-gate), I just want to say I’m really sorry that there are people like that out there.
Some of the comments are so unbelievably rude and hurtful, but I must commend you for your grace in replying.
I hope it never puts you off doing what you do – as you do it so well.
You can see from the comments here that the number of people cheering for you far far outweighs the number of trolls.

Congrats you guys! I have to say I thought, “It’s Will and Clara 2.0!” It’s so fun being pregnant and having a baby with a friend. My bff’s and I had our babies a month apart and it was wonderful having someone to talk to and go through things with. I hope your pregnancy goes well, Sherry. Congrats! My boys are 4 years and one week apart (the second being a high risk pregnancy because of the first, so I feel for you and understand the nerves) BUT- I love the age span and I hope that you will as well. So much fun to experience everything all over again while also enjoying a much newer phase at the same time. Basically while one has outgrown holding my hand (the too-cool-for-school 9 year old), I still have my 5 year old that allows cuddles. But then I also have the great sense of humor that comes with a 4th grader. Best of both worlds, my friend.

I am SOOOO EXCITED for you all!!! I am also pregnant and just entered into my second trimester…My due date is on April 9 and this is my first child. My husband and I are thrilled! When is your due date (if your comfortable sharing that info)? Maybe we share the same date and are preggo twins! YES! LOL Also, will you be finding out what gender the new bean is? Happy News! Congratulations! My second pregnancy was high risk because of complications with my first, so I totally understand the anxiety that comes along with round two!
