Now Expanding

We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.

Bean Clara

The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.

Bean Sherry

(I’ll happily put on some sympathy weight – it’s the least I can do)

Bean John

Burger, on the other hand, has no idea what’s going on. But he’s generally excited about life, so that’s nice.

Bean Burger

Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!

Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

So happy for all three (and Burger) of you!!! I know Clara will be a wonderful big sister and a real help to you with the baby. My first daughter was 3 and a half when our second daughter arrived. Only problem we had was that she was TOO helpful two weeks before the baby came. I had just scrubbed the kitchen floor for the last time and was exhausted (carrying a 9 pound 10 ounce baby!), so payed down in family room for a nap. Kim was no longer taking naps but I requested she lay down and be quiet while Mommy napped. Well, when I woke up, I discovered she had decided to “help” Mommy clean the floor. She had gotten the bottle of Palmolive dishwashing soap and had squeezed lines of detergent all over

Congratulations! As a fellow high-risker you’re in for a little bit of a different experience this time, but I’m sure you’re going to be surrounded by awesome personal, professional, and virtual teams! The extra ultrasounds (if required) are a nice perk!

Definitely agree with Kelly about those extra ultrasounds and weekly stress tests are fun (sorta) too – basically anytime you get to hear/see the baby more is amazing! Although towards the end you may feel like you LIVE at the OB with one or two appts a week!! :)

Hopefully you saved those cloth diapers! I am expecting #2 in 3.5 weeks and had to buy a few more since #1 is still in diapers. Do you plan on cloth diapering again?

Can’t wait to see what you do with the nursery!

Now I’m also excited to see what you will do with the future nursery.

OMG!!! I am so happy for you guys!!! Can’t wait to see the progression Sherry! OK, so I have 2 questions. A) Will there be a fun material background thing for Sherry as she grows with Baby #2?? B) Do you guys have any type of game plan yet for juggling 2 kids while both working from home?? And we know with little ones plans always change, but just wanted to know what you guys were thinking. AGAIN.. So happy for you guys!

I just saw the comments about the “photoshop controversy” and all I can say is wow, some people have no boundaries and are just plain awful to others. It makes me think of those meme’s where it shows a person with a horse head and they say “On the internet, nobody knows you’re a horse…nobody” Well people still know you’re a jerk on the internet. I hope all the love and good wishes help make up for the crap you guys have to deal with!
