Now Expanding

We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.

The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.

Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!

Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

    I was in your position just months ago and I wanted to “share” your “State of the Uterus” post on Facebook to hopefully stop the speculating – for ALL of the reasons you mention in the post – but I felt like it would make people speculate even more! I totally support you and wanted you to know that reading that post and knowing I wasn’t alone (that you experienced the tiresome comments, too) helped more than you know. That said, I wish NONE of us gals would experience that sour part in the first place!

    Best wishes! I’m due at the end of January with our little bean and we’re neck deep in our own young house love kitchen renovation! You’ll love it!

    Many congratulations! I’m along time reader and I can’t believe how obsessed everyone is with your uterus. I guess it’s part of life in the public eye but dang-and-a-half… I read for ceramic animals and “we’re doing life our way and we’re making it work” triumphs, not to claim “I-knew-it-first” dibs. Go on with your bad selves. I never revealed my pregnancies until I was pretty sure every present under the tree was going to be either a thighmaster or a gift certificate for 3 free months of Jenny Craig… with best intentions, of course…

    I am elated for you guys! Such an exciting time in life! We just purchased our first home Monday morning & were ripping out carpet by the afternoon. You guys are constantly inspiring me. I look forward to hearing more Friday.

    Congratulations! Clara will be the same age apart as my younger brother & I. It’s perfect! Minimal fighting as kids & we’re friends in our 20s :)

    Yay! How perfect! I always wanted my kids 3-4 years apart; they ended up 16 months apart. My oldest is just a couple weeks older than Clara, so I’m totally going to be living vicariously through your pregnancy wishing it was my second as well.

    So excited for you! Second pregnancies prove to be unchartered territory. I had three miscarriages between my first and second kids. Needless the say, my (finally) successful pregnancy was filled with terror. Every day I was terrified something would go wrong. And my first one was such a breeze, I totally shared the sentiment about doing it a dozen times! Keep thinking good thoughts and remember how wonderful that end result is. And, most importantly, you are not alone! Don’t go all crazy DIY during this phase though, try and relax and get some rest. God knows two is a whole new ball game! Clara will be a great big sis.

    So excited for you all!! Congratulations!! I just squeeled at my desk at work and a cople of my coworkers popped their heads up over the cubical like “is everything ok”. Then i had to tell them – I follow a blog and the writers are husband and wife and they are expecting again!! of course they then ask, “do you know them” – me: i feel like i do sometimes (hehe).
