We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.
The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.
(I’ll happily put on some sympathy weight – it’s the least I can do)
Burger, on the other hand, has no idea what’s going on. But he’s generally excited about life, so that’s nice.
Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!
Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

Oh, congrats! I just read the post on telling the fam about expecting Miss Clara. We had the doctor write down the sex of each of our babies (3) and seal it in an envelope. My husband wasn’t able to be at the first ultrasound so I didn’t want to know before he did. We thought for 5 seconds that we might like to be surprised and then ripped open the envelope- BOY! With our second and third, we decided to follow the tradition even if we were going to open it in the parking lot. Now we have three little envelopes with three little letters, all reading BOY! Any ‘feeling’ on if Clara is getting a sister or brother?

I was really bothered (like too bothered about a stranger, really) that you photoshopped your tummy, Sherry. I even told my friend that if you weren’t pg I’d be really disappointed that you did that when you have a daughter and body image and yada-yada. Especially since you really didn’t seem to be the kind of person to photoshop your body. Ah, crisis averted! ;)
Plus, now no one will ask if you are! Because you are!!! Yay! I bet you’re SO relieved to not have to answer anymore. :)

CONGRATS!!!! YAY, I actually squealed at my desk at work when I read this! So I’m wondering what is the actual timeline of events…I know not everything is always posted in real time, but when I was trying to sort things out I lost myself. What was the timing for the book tour, buying the new house, selling the old, moving and becoming preggers? Just trying to understand how it all fell into place and how you possibly manage it all.
