Now Expanding

We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.

Bean Clara

The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.

Bean Sherry

(I’ll happily put on some sympathy weight – it’s the least I can do)

Bean John

Burger, on the other hand, has no idea what’s going on. But he’s generally excited about life, so that’s nice.

Bean Burger

Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!

Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

So happy for your family!! Are you hoping for a boy this time or a little sister for Clara? Also looking back at a few pics of Sherry on the blog recently I just knew she was pregnant! I knew and figured it was a secret for the time being! I’m sure Katie Bower is ecstatic as well!

    Congrats!!
Did it take you long to conceive? I know that’s kind of personal, I’m just curious because it seems like everyone I know, myself included, it took a lot longer TTC #2.

Ahhh ha! I totally was getting that “feeling” for you guys, I don’t know why. Maybe I’m clairvoyant – or maybe Sherry just had that glow. ;-) Congratulations! Any gut feelings on boy or girl? If you happen to be in Southern California about a week after you give birth, I would love to photograph baby P #2. I’m a newborn photographer, not just a random creepster :-P

CONGRATULATIONS! I hope the pregnancy sickness (because, let’s be honest, it doesn’t just happen in the morning) subsides soon and the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly. Our kids were born 3.3 years apart and our daughter (the oldest) is so wonderful with our son – I’m sure Clara will be the same way. Are you envisioning another photo project for this little Bean?

Yippee! Clara seems like she will be a great big sister and helper when the baby comes. So happy for your family and will be praying for a continued healthy pregnancy and when the time comes, a healthy delivery. I am a NICU nurse and understand how stressful it can be when you’ve been-there-done-that and it’s not “perfect” the first time. Hopefully you can be at peace and enjoy the ride with as little stress as possible.
