Fab Freebies: Family Ties

And according to random.org, our trio of winners are… Alicia (whose family all shares their mom’s dark eyes), Sondra (who feels like she gave birth to three exact clones of her husband) and Erica (whose first two kids have her eyes, but the third got daddy’s). Congrats ladies!

This giveaway combines some of our favorite things: silhouettes, colorful art, and family (if there were a ceramic animal or a map involved, our heads might explode). So needless to say, this prize from Etsy seller Genuinely Yours gets us going. She designs graphic prints that are customized to feature your family, your choice of color, and even your preferred language (good thing, since this prize goes anywhere in the world). So this week THREE of you can pick either her modern spin on the family tree or her silhouette-y take on the family portrait (she does couples too).

    There’s SIX of us (mommy/daddy/boy/girl/twin boys)…3 of us have green eyes & 3 of us have brown eyes…3 of us are adventurous & 3 of us would rather sit back and watch a movie…one thing we have in common is we ALL LOVE each other A LOT!!

    FAMILY ME!
    What a great site you have! I just found it and I love decorating (elegant but “design on a dime” style so needless to say I love your approach). I’m a big Anthropologie and Z Gallerie fan. Always trying to achieve those styles at a fraction of the price. As for our family, we are still trying to come up for air after welcoming 2 new babies in less than a year (one through birth; one adoption). So now we have 4 children who are 5 yrs and under! Whew! We still have trouble requesting a table at a restaurant (“table for six please with one high chair, only 2 kids menus, one spot for a snap-and-go stroller- no please don’t add a high chair with 6 adult chairs…nevermind, may I please just set up the table myself?” :) )
    We are very affectionate, analytical, passionate, social, funny, and spontenous people…even our little people. What would you expect with two psychologist parents; a sweet 5 year old we call “saint” who wants to take care of everyone; a firecracker who is WAY TOO perceptive to be 4; a “no fear Santa-like-belly-laugh” son; and a mellow all-smiles baby girl?

    Family Me!
    Common trait- I guess we’re all a bit quirky. My kids, all in their 20’s, will say when we are together, “I love my family.” This is usually after something odd has happened.

    FAMILY ME!
    My entire family is musically inclined. I didn’t realize until I was much older that Happy Birthday isn’t *always* sung in five part harmony. :-P

    FAMILY ME! Our family shares a love for music and dancing. We listen to music, of all types, constantly in our house and encourage our daughter (who just turned 1 on May 10) to dance and have a ball.

    “FAMILY ME”—— all of my boys are readers- we love books- however I am constantly trying to pare them down.
    Anyway– I would love to win this as next month is my in-laws 50th anniversary- they would really love the tree.

    FAMILY ME!
    My husband and I have three boys – 5 years, 3 years and 4 months. They all look like my hubby and our friends call them clone 1, clone 2, and clone 3. I swear I gave birth to all of them though – you don’t forget something like that!

    Family Me!!

    We’re known for being quiet! My friends often comment on how soft spoken my hubs and I are. Our little girl is only 1, so we’re not sure yet if she’ll follow–but I do hope so!

    FAMILY ME! One common trait in our little family of three is laughter. We all love to laugh, tease, and just have fun. It’s one thing that bonds us together in good times and bad. Not to mention…we love to hear the laughter from our little nugget. It melts our hearts!

    We all love to laugh and spend time together – usually while doing a project around our home! It keeps us busy, but it helps to build our home in more ways than one.

    FAMILY ME! We all have blue eyes, and all the Huffs (my husband’s family) share what I call the “Huff Teeth” – they are straight, square on top, with sharp canines. I know, it’s weird.

    FAMILY ME! One thing that ties my family together is our geeky love for musicals! — MY poor husband did not know what he was getting in to when he married me. When ever my family gets together we can be seen signing show tunes at the top of our lungs! – Even the smallest phrase sets us off. The other day my husband said something about seizing the day, and I started singing and dancing the newsies song!

    FAMILY ME! We all find great joy in being together as a family. We have six children, with two married, three grandchildren and another on the way. Family gatherings are wonderful!
