My family–my husband and I–are held together through our silliness, our desire to playfully debate the smallest of issues (we met in English class, so that trait follows), and our stubbornness when it comes to our commitment to each other. We look far, far into the future and think of when we’re both hobbling along with our tennis-ball walkers. In the end, we may not have much money or be known for something big, but we’re going to stay together and stay loving each other every day, just to get to that quiet intimacy in old age. Our anniversary (tomorrow!!!! We’ve made a huge cake!) is one of the most important days of the year.
