Fab Freebie: World Play

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

And the lucky / randomly selected / soon to be quite worldly person is… Briana (who says “London, Ontario is special to me. That’s where I first lived on my own, went to University, met my husband, and I just loved that city. Plus, it has the best spaghetti restaurant ever, Spageddy Eddy’s!”). Congrats! And for everyone else, scroll down to the contest entry details for a sweet little discount the Wallpapered folks added for everyone.

One look at Pinterest and I don’t feel quite so alone in my fascination with maps. So to everyone else out there who digs a little cartography in their design, hold on to your seats. This week the people behind Wallpapered are giving one of you a nice big 8ft x 5ft world map wallpaper kit so that you can add a map-tastic mural to your home. As much as I love the various world map styles they offer, the coolest feature (at least to me) is that you can also get custom area map wallpaper that basically zooms into a postal code of your choosing. So you could order custom wallpaper showcasing your favorite big city – or even the small town that you grew up in.

Wallpapered Giveaway

  • PRIZE: Any world map or custom area map wallpaper up to 8ft x 5ft from Wallpapered (a $400+ value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WORLD ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what town / city / state / country / other geographic area is most special to you? Will you always have a fondness for the town you grew up in? Are you most enamored with the place where you honeymooned? Or are you just bursting with pride over the area where you currently live?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 23rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Wahoo, this giveaway is available worldwide!
  • DISCOUNT: Get 10% off your custom map order with code YHL2013
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Wallpapered.

    World Me!

I would totally zoom in our little suburb. Our street names all have a ‘space’ theme – galaxy way, solar way, star street, planet street, apollo street etc

I love that little quirk in our suburb :)

Wow what a lot of entries! The place that is most special to me is in Brazil – a ranch in the Pantanal. Sure, there are mosquitoes and caiman and all kinds of insects you could never imagine, but it’s just the most amazing place, like a city filled with nothing but wildlife. It is both the most tranquil place ever, and the busiest!

I am so stoked at the international giveaway that I would want a map of the whole world for my living room wall (in the middle of a big ass renovation of the house I bought with my fiancee) and we are almost up to the decoration part. So this is wonderful. Thank you for a chance to win !

We have a thing for NYC & Boston (engaged in Central Park and honeymooned while eating tons of local lobster). San Francisco is where we currently live and we love it, too. Our little man was born here, so that makes it extra special. We’d have a tough time choosing just one!

I would love a wall map since I love travel and would enjoy something so unique in our home, totally my style.
There are a few places very special to me. In short: Prague, Dublin, and Washington State. I have no fondness for the town I grew up in, Houston, it’s an unattractive sea of concrete.
We still have not honeymooned, but I am enamored with the above places as well as mountains, mountains mountains! I’m certainly NOT bursting with pride about where I currently live, Arkansas, and can’t wait to get out of here and back to WA!
I just found your site last week and spent hours and hours on it on my first discovery of it, ya’ll rock! This will be so helpful :-)

WORLD ME!!! We did a huge world trip for our honeymoon and one of our favourite places was Tennessee.

As an Aussie, we think our own country is pretty spectacular, but the lushness of the Tenneesee mountains took our breath away… we visited Memphis, Nashville and Lynchburg and we’d go back to Tennessee in a heartbeat :)

WORLD ME! I am fairly obsessed with maps as well, and have pinned all sorts of ideas on ways to use them. Two years ago we helped my MIL clear out her he and move into a retirement village. We found boxes of maps (they saved EVERYTHING) and although it wasn’t possible to take them all, we did ack up about 10-15 lbs worth and bring back to Argentina with us :) We really like the idea of papering a wall one day with some of them. Would dearly love to win this giveaway!!!!!!!!!

We’ve lived in 4 U.S. states and on 3 continents so it would be hard to pick one special place, although our year in Uganda caused us to fall in love with the place and the people.
