After 10,000 interesting name origin stories, random.org has selected our winners as… Beth (who says “my dad picked it out and to this day I’m whole heartily a daddy’s girl.”) and Chelsea (who’s name story is: “My parents got my name from the 1981 movie, On Golden Pond. ‘Chelsea’ was played by Jane Fonda”) Congrats!
I realize from the name Online Fabric Store, you might have trouble guessing what this online store sells, so allow me to solve that mystery for ya. Fabric! And seemingly every kind of fabric – like upholstery, decor, quilting, apparel and even garden fabric. Which means that this week’s two winners (who are each getting $250 to spend there) could tackle anything from sewing some pillow covers or making a duvet to redoing the curtains in an entire room. And the cool thing about their system is that the more yardage you buy, the cheaper each yard gets – and once you get over that $50 mark, your shipping in the US is free.

Michelle says
Fabric me-no special meaning but my husband’s name is Ryan and mine is Michelle. If we were born the opposite gender, our names would have been reversed. Our parent’s minds thought alike
jill says
FABRIC ME! Well, when I asked my mother this very question she didn’t have an answer for me. She just kind of cocked her head and said, “Hmmm… well, I thought Jill St. John was pretty.” Uh. Okay. Such a rousing endorsement. No wonder I always wanted to change it.
Helena says
FABRIC ME!!!
I was named after my grandmother, we have the same first and middle name, Helena Mary. She was born and raised in Ireland and it makes me feel tied to one of my favorite places on earth, which is of course, the Emerald Isle.

FABRIC ME!!!
My Mom just always loved the name and my Dad didn’t object, so a Courtney was born.
However, I must say, being 8 months pregnant with my first child, picking out a name is not an easy task! Such pressure!

Laura Kaye says
FABRIC ME! And no cool story to go with my name – my parents just happened to like the name. :)
kathleen says
My parents tried not to name me after any relatives – they wanted me to have a clean slate to start with, so to speak – but coming from an Irish Catholic background, there were plenty of Kathleen’s around the family tree!
Brianna says
“FABRIC ME!” My name means strong one, though that’s not why I was named Brianna. My Mom really liked the name Alanna, but my Dad wasn’t quite sold on the name. While at my older brother’s preschool, my Mom heard the name Brianna and knew it was the perfect fit.
Samantha says
Fabric me! I honestly have no idea how my parents picked “Samantha” but it means listener… if it was accurate I think it would be talkative. I mean that last half of my last name is “chat” so I’m a chatty listener??? :)
I wished that my name was Zoe or Chloe when I was a kid. I was obsessed with the ‘oe’ I guess.
Ali says
FABRIC ME!! I was named after my grandma. She was pretty amazing, so it is an honor to be named after her!
Katie J. says
“FABRIC ME!”
I was named after my dad’s deceased sister and my middle name is after a deceased close family friend…so in memory of two amazing women. I always thought growing up Katie was such a boring name. I wanted to be named something flashy. Now as I get older, I really like my name, even though it’s not nearly as unique as it used to be.
Jenna @ Fresh Food Perspectives says

Holly Meadows says
FABRIC ME!! No special meaning behind my name

FABRIC ME!
I was named after my great grandmother, Melissa Annie Horne.

Liesl says
FABRIC ME!
My name comes from my mother’s favorite movie, The Sound of Music :) When I was younger, I hated it because I was super shy and hated correcting everyone. I actually went by “Lisa” through high school. Now, I LOVE that I have an unusual name, even though people still can’t pronounce it or spell it ;)
Thanks for another great giveaway!
Liesl says
Oh, and the nickname “Lisa” actually came from a “pet rock” my Dad had on his Navy ship. Haha. Weird :) His shipmates even staged a kidnapping of his pet rock. I guess they had to find some crazy ways of entertaining themselves (though I could think of worse things, haha)
