I realize from the name Online Fabric Store, you might have trouble guessing what this online store sells, so allow me to solve that mystery for ya. Fabric! And seemingly every kind of fabric – like upholstery, decor, quilting, apparel and even garden fabric. Which means that this week’s two winners (who are each getting $250 to spend there) could tackle anything from sewing some pillow covers or making a duvet to redoing the curtains in an entire room. And the cool thing about their system is that the more yardage you buy, the cheaper each yard gets – and once you get over that $50 mark, your shipping in the US is free.

FABRIC ME!
My dad was the one who chose my name, it has no special meaning other than he had liked it forever. My mom wanted to name me Kylie (because I’m a girl) but my dad won. I love my name and have never hated my parents for choosing it. It has caused some sticky situations in the past though – think being signed up for boys P.E. class in seventh grade because they thought I was a guy!
rachel says
FABRIC ME!
No super story behind my name. They just liked it:)
Renee says
Fabric ME!!! No meaning – my Mom just loved it.
Diane says
FABRIC ME!!! No meaning
Laura says
Fabric me!
My name (in a roundabout way) means “victory,” which I’ve always held as my inspiration for everything I do! It’s highly motivational. :D
JessG says
FABRIC ME!!!
My middle name (and all my sisters’ middle names) is my mom’s maiden name…as a kid, I thought that’s how everyone’s name was…until I learned that all the Elizabeths and Anns weren’t all related:)
Amy says
“Fabric Me”! According to my mom, my dad wanted to name me Aaron (typical boy’s spelling), not Erin. My mom won out though and my name is Amy!
Tristen Hammontree says
FABRIC ME!
First let me preface this by saying, I am female. Most “Tristen/Tristan/Tristin/Triston/Tristun” in this world I have come to learn are male, however I am female. I’d also like to say that yes.. I am named after Brad Pitts character in Legend of the Fall, however this is not the case… but you can keep asking and I’ll keep telling you no. Sadly, I am named after the actor Tristan Rogers who played Robert Scorpio on General Hospital fro 80-92. However, my EXTREMELY wonderful and thoughtful father changed the spelling to TristEn instead of the masculine TristAn. I LOVE my name! I love that it (until recently) was so unique. My family also has a “unique name streak” My dad’s name is Rebbie and my brother is Revan. So we are all a strange and unique bunch. Thanks for listening/reading my name story. I love your blog and can’t wait to start DIYing our new home!!
Kelly says
FABRIC ME!!!
And there is no very good story for you. They like it, so Kelly it was…
Connie says
FABRIC ME – My name has no real significance other than my Mom didnt like her name (Loretta) and she wanted my sister and I to have simple names.
Sami says
Fabric me! I was named after Samantha from Bewitched. I’m a tad of a witchy woman I guess lol. One of my middle names is Lynn and all of my grandmothers have Lynn in their name.
Meghan says
Fabric me! No special meaning to my name though – my mom just liked it because it was Irish (kind of)…
Nicola (Niki) says
FABRIC ME!
My name was random. For nine months, my parents swore that I was a boy from all the kicking. My boy name was Benedikt (yes, like Benedict Arnold), but this version was the German version named after a political family member from Munchen, Germany. He survived a concentration camp internment after speaking out against Hitler. Well, I was to carry on his name. When I popped out, I was missing some parts (the important boy ones). Once my doctor recovered from fainting at my birth, my parents were: “Oh darn, we didn’t pick out a girl’s name.” They opened the baby name book and there was “Nicola” and I was named. My sister’s name is Muffy….together our pink princess phone number looked like french poodles who had a phone line (Niki and Muffy).
LizzieBeth says
FABRIC ME!
My mom wanted to name me Megan Josephine after her two favorite characters from Little Women. My dad didn’t like it, so they went with the other two characters: Amy & Elizabeth!
Katherine Brown says
FABRIC ME!
My parents saw my name (Katherine Healy) in a movie ad before I was born – she was a famous ballerina/actress.
Ashlie says
FABRIC ME! My name was originally “Ashley,” a totally normal and common late 70’s name. Then my parents actually had my birth certificate amended to change it to “Ashlie.” Ok great, it makes a pretty common name a little “different,” but no one ever spells it right!
Theresa says
Fabric me!
My name actually means the reaper which I’m sure is originally some sort of farming term. But I always associate it with the grim reaper so it seems much less pleseant.
Brooke says
Fabric Me! No fun story behind my name. It was going to be a Brooke for a girl or a Jarod for a boy. Well end of story, I was a girl.
Melissa says
FABRIC ME! My first name was just a top-10 name when I was born. But I have my grandmother’s middle name, which is a little more special.
Amy says
Fabric Me! My middle name, Elisabeth, is from my great grandma.
Luba says
FABRIC ME!
Luba wasn’t even the name given to me at birth, I changed it when I came immigrated to Canada. There’s a long story behind it..
Amy B. says
Fabric Me! My name (Amy) means “benevolent or beloved one” in French. I don’t think that’s why my parents picked it, though. I think it was more along the lines of they liked it, and it wasn’t a name on either side of the family, so no one could be upset.
Cassie says
FABRIC ME!! i’m cassie. cassie for short, cassie for long. mostly because my dad could never spell cassandra right. really dad? and also i didn’t have a name for three days. my parents SWORE i was going to be a boy. harrison. lawd, thank you for making me no name cassie for three days. i don’t think i could be a harrison…..
Rachel says
FABRIC ME!
My parents were trying very hard to pick a name that couldn’t be shortened (their other choice was Rebecca, but they didn’t want me to be Becky). So they named me Rachel, and I’ve been Rachie to them ever since.
Jenn says
FABRIC ME! My parents just liked the name. The funny thing was that each of my given names (first, middle & last) are all welsh in origin although my parents had no idea about that until I told them in High School after being obsessed with name meanings.
Robin says
Fabric Me! My father painted wildlife and for a period he sold it in the mall. A lady came and requested a Robin because it was her name. He liked it so much and said she was such a kind stranger that that’s what he decided to name me.
Margret H says
FABRIC ME! I was named after my mothers aunt, and somehow we ended up with all the same hobbies as adults, sewing being one!
Casie says
FABRIC ME!
My parents chose my name when they saw it on some movie credits. My name is spelled Casie, however it’s pronounced Casey and people always get that wrong.
Beth Lewis says
Fabric Me! My name means House of God. I’m the fourth Elizabeth in my family, and named my daughter Elizabeth, too, but none of us actually go by our real name.
Caitlin says
Unfortunately, no cool story behind my name. I love it even though a. it’s common and b. I often get shortened to Cait, which drives me crazy if it’s someone I barely know.
Karen says
Fabric me! My name is Karen because my parents’ first named me “Sharon” then decided there were too many Ss in my name. They hadn’t prepared a girl’s name, thinking I would be a boy. When I was born a girl, “James” didn’t seem appropriate before. My middle name, Elizabeth, is my aunt’s middle name.
Liz says
FABRIC ME!
Not sure about my first name but my middle name is my grandmother’s name. I used to hate it but now I love it and love the sense of history it gives me! :)
Caitlin says
and i should have added- FABRIC ME!
Megan D. says
Fabric Me! Megan was the only name my Mom and Dad could agree on – not sure what the meaning is of it. I always loved my first name but hated my last (maiden) name – Kruger. Growing up in the 80’s meant endless questions about whether I was related to Freddy Krueger.
Emily says
FABRIC ME! I was named after my mom’s favorite doll she had growing up. :)
Holly says
Fabric ME! My name was actually picked by my sisters because I was born near Christmas. I guess after naming 3 other girls my parents were out of ideas, of course they still had to pick out one more since my sister came along 5 years later.
Raelle says
Fabric me! I’m named after my grandpa, whose name was Rae. My parents took it an gave it a feminine “elle”, and there it is–Raelle
Carrie says
FABRIC ME!
I was named after Carrie from Little House on the Prairie. I’ve always liked it because I didn’t know any other Carrie’s until I was older.
Shannon says
FABRIC ME!My parents just liked the name Shannon. It was always hard to explain to that I really wasn’t Irish! (except on March 17th) I always wanted a more traditional name!
Jenny C says
FABRIC ME!
My name is Jenny, just Jenny – not Jennifer. I’ve always liked that because my mom always says of me that I’m pure Jenny. Hearing that is kind to my soul.
Lisa says
Fabric me! Nothing exciting about my name… My parents just liked it!
Ahsamon says
Fabric me!
I’m half-Persian, so my name, Ahsamon, means sky in Farsi. My parents gave my sister, Settareh, a “matching” name (her’s means star). :)
Liz says
FABRIC ME!
Named after the Queen Mum :)
Michelle says
I am the 3rd generation of names ending with “elle” although I didn’t continue the tradition with my daughter
Michelle says
FABRIC ME! oops, forgot
Margaret says
FABRIC ME!
I was named after my great-grandmother Margot. When I was younger, I always wished my name was something more trendy like an Ashley or Jennifer, because every person I met would tell me “Oh Margaret, that’s my grandmother’s name”. It wasn’t always fun trying to pick up guys in college and having them tell me that my name reminded them of their grandmother who was in a nursing home drinking scotch and ranting about hooligans (although I am sure that’s what i’ll be doing when I’m 90). But now, I am happy to be named after a woman who at her time broke many social barriers by being a well known journalist and political commentator.
Alexandra says
Fabric Me! My mother had three names picked out for me, all depending on my hair color. Newborn haircolor is rarely accurate. Nevertheless, I was born and named Alexandra, the brown-haired choice. Thankfully, I turned out as a brunette.
Lora says
FABRIC ME!
I was named after Laura Ingalls Wilder, by my English lit teacher mom. My dad, a notoriously bad speller, changed the spelling of my name to Lora, which also happens to be the Germanic spelling.
Great giveaway!
Raelle says
Fabric me!
I’m named after my grandpa, Rae. My parents added a feminine “elle” and viola! Raelle
Mattie says
FABRIC ME! I am named after my great grandmother who’s full name was Matilda, but my legal full name is Mattie.
Samantha collins says
FABRIC ME!!
my name means good listener but my parents chose it after watching bewitched!
