Fab Freebie: West In Show

***Uh oh – looks like we like we hit capacity on this post with over 10,000 comments! But this giveaway is closed anyways, so I guess it’s okay.***

It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). And not that you asked, but if you need any help picking out what to buy – might we suggest some of these lurvely items below (Sherry had trouble picking just six things, so we added an extra row and went with nine):

West Elm Moodboard

Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Front & Main actually officially launches next week, but they’re giving all of us a sneak peek today. Oh and if you scroll down a bit while you’re there, you might recognize some familiar faces…

West Elm Blog

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on THIS OTHER POST with the words “WEST ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

Four years ago, we moved to a new country, our daughter started a new school and we embarked on a new adventure with new and old friends. Four years later, we just moved to a new country and starting all over again. It’s deja vu! : )

Oh my gosh my life is unrecognizably different now than it was in 2007. In 2007 I had just graduated, was singing in a band, was still with my high school boyfriend, and was making extra money freelance graphic designing.

Now… I’m the owner and creative director of my own photography business, am married to the drummer from said band, and am 5 months pregnant with our firstborn son. :) Crazyface changes huh? 4 years can be a lifetime.

    xo,

    WEST ME!

Wow…my life has drastically changed in the past 4 years. I spent the summer of 2007 interning at NYSAF, one year of college, spent summer of 2008 interning at NPR, then senior year of college. graduated, moved from PA to OH, moved into my own first apartment, went through wayyyyy too many jobs, moved to DC, again went through wayyyyy too many jobs, got my job at NPR that I’m at now, and moved into my awesome house that i live in now. lost old friends, made new ones, fell in and out of love.

So much can happen in 4 years its incredible…especially when you’re at the beginning of a long long road through life.

4 years ago I was suffering from alcoholism and it was killing me. I’d lost my house and was drinking so heavily that I was hospitalized repeatedly. So four years later, I am sober, have a steady job, and am slowly rebuilding my life–hoping to buy another home within the next year.

West Me! Oh my goodness West Me!

In 2007 I had just moved out of my parents house, and I was renting my own house. An adult for the first time. As a bonus, this is the year that I got my dog (Maggie, a rat terrier) and also a pygmy goat (named Festus)!! I was still a long long way off from being who I am today, and as I go into the last month before I myself become a married woman it is indeed trippy to think back on where I was just four years ago. I was such a baby…and now though I am still far from being the ultimate ME I want to be, it’s nice to know that I am this far along.

    Love you guys!

4 years ago we had just moved to Memphis, TN where I started teaching Physics again and coaching for the first time. Now my husband and I are back in Michigan and we have the most amazing almost 17 month old little girl who I can’t get enough of, which is good because I stay home with her everyday. If only I could get more decorating done without my little helper finding something else more interesting to get into.

I love reading your blog, it keeps me inspired to decorate. I love reading about Clara because she reminds me of my Ellie and she is just so darn cute! Keep it up!
