It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Since 2007 I’ve graduated high school, started college, dropped out of college, worked in a kitchen for a year and a half, went back to school, and moved a total of six times! Now that I realize that all that happened in only four years, I’m a bit overwhelmed!

Four years ago we were still living in CA, in a rental, no pets, but we were married (1 1/2 years). That was two jobs ago for me as well. Since then we have moved back to the east coast, bought a house, and adopted two kitties. :)

2007 is when we fell in love, best friends who finally came to reality.
Since 2007, we both got our masters and both landed jobs as scientists. But after one year, I realized I missed being creative, and hated being stuck in the lab. So we relocated for his promotion, and I jumped head first into following my design dreams.
Ironically, we walked hand-in-hand into West Elm last night. Everything is so much more tempting and fabulous in the store. West Elm always gets it right with their textures!!

This has been the year of firsts, my first 1/2 marathon, our first place together(old brewery turned into loft apartments) in a new city, with my new job!
