Fab Freebie: West In Show

***Uh oh – looks like we like we hit capacity on this post with over 10,000 comments! But this giveaway is closed anyways, so I guess it’s okay.***

It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). And not that you asked, but if you need any help picking out what to buy – might we suggest some of these lurvely items below (Sherry had trouble picking just six things, so we added an extra row and went with nine):

West Elm Moodboard

Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Front & Main actually officially launches next week, but they’re giving all of us a sneak peek today. Oh and if you scroll down a bit while you’re there, you might recognize some familiar faces…

West Elm Blog

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on THIS OTHER POST with the words “WEST ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

    WEST ME!

In 2007 I had just graduated from college. I was living with 3 other women my age & working as a substitute teacher & clerk at an organic grocery store. I’ve now moved across the country, am married, and work in a school library. :)

I really love your blog. It motivates my mind, now I need to put all this motivation into action! Ha!

I also liked Sherry’s picks (except for the ram head thing, that I could do without, sorry Sherry), but definitely would love to shop at West Elm. So here goes my attempt at winning…

Since 2007 I have been preparing myself to reenter the work force. I have been home with my four daughters (Lee and I (I am Rachel) have you two way beat :-) I currently teach at the Community College but would love to make this a full-time occupation. I love teaching, it is a really great creative outlet!
Thank you two for a really entertaining, normal, clever couple blog – it’s fun.

Hmm…In 2007 I was a lowly graduate student living in a janky apartment in Atlanta with two close friends. Today I’m in Washington, DC living in a janky apartment with my soon-to-be husband and an income : ) I’m happy to say I was happy both places!

My life is completely different. Since 2007 I graduated from college, started 2 new jobs, moved to a new town, bought a new house (all this within 4 months), and got married.
All that’s left is to add some kids…

    WEST ME! {please}

In the last four years we had a baby, my husband finished his PhD, we moved to to a different state, we both started new jobs, we’ve lost three babies to miscarriage, and we just bought our first home (which could use some West Elm love). It’s been a full four years . . . sometimes challenging, but also wonderful at the same time.

4 years ago I moved into my own little studio apartment all by myself. It was full of hand-me-downs and a lot of crappy decor. Now I’m married with 2 sweet pups and a “real” house which is in desperate need of some nice stuff!

One 15 month deployment, two more kids, 3 more states and a whole lot of fun in between. Congrats on doing so well for yourselves with your hard work and creativity these past four years.

4 years ago I was starting my 2nd year of law school. I had just finished an internship with the prosecutor’s office in my hometown. Today I work for that same office as a deputy prosecutor and it feels like I’m right where I was destined to be. Now I just need a gift card from one of my favorite stores ever to hopefully add to my collection of big girl furniture!
