Fab Freebie: West In Show

***Uh oh – looks like we like we hit capacity on this post with over 10,000 comments! But this giveaway is closed anyways, so I guess it’s okay.***

It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). And not that you asked, but if you need any help picking out what to buy – might we suggest some of these lurvely items below (Sherry had trouble picking just six things, so we added an extra row and went with nine):

West Elm Moodboard

Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Front & Main actually officially launches next week, but they’re giving all of us a sneak peek today. Oh and if you scroll down a bit while you’re there, you might recognize some familiar faces…

West Elm Blog

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on THIS OTHER POST with the words “WEST ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

    WEST ME, please!

In four years, I’ve moved states, got engaged, bought a house, got married, had our first “fur” baby, and most recently welcomed a son! We’re looking forward to all the joy the next 4 years will bring :)

WEST ME! …In 2007, I was just graduating college. Now I’m at a grad school, that is a two hour flight from my hometown, to pursue a totally different career.

Oh my stars West Me!! I looove West Elm too, I totally understand how hard it would be to choose only six things to highlight how great they are!! I routinely go peek at their clearance section of web site :o)

At the beginning of 07 I had just finished college and was living kind of half in Australia and half in India…since then I came back to the States, married husband, had fancy software jobs in Seattle for 2.5 yrs, left fancy jobs to go back to grad school in physics, and bought our first house. Whee!

WEST ME! holy mackerel, west me.

2007-2011, dating-married, gauged ears/no tats-ungauged ears/one tattoo, undergrad-graduated, living with my grandparents-in an awesome apartment with my man, my natural dark blond-dyed brunette, avid knitter-avid knitter. many changes, but many things are the same! in 2007 this isn’t what i necessarily anticipated, but i don’t think i would be surprised, either.

WEST ME! So much has changed in four years… I completed a teaching job overseas and am back in the U.S., moving to a totally new part of the country (Northwest coast) to start fresh. In the process of those international moves, I cleaned out about 2/3 of my former possessions – quite a cathartic and liberating process. And I’m growing my hair out, for the first time in many years. :)

Anyway, my life is different in almost every way… I graduated from college, met, got engaged to and married the love of my life, moved to Texas for 2 years, moved to Utah a few months ago, became a HOME OWNER and now need to decorate said home with beautiful things from West Elm. :)

    West Me Please!

In 4 years I have: graduated from college, moved states away from family & friends, lived with my in-laws for two years while my fiance was in grad school, have been tossed about by the difficult job market (on my 4th job since college), got married after a 3 year engagement, and am finally settling into a cute town with my amazing husband and making this state my new home.

Thank you for your inspiring blog! It is a delight to read.

So much has changed for me since 2007! But I guess I’m at that age. I have lived in two new states, 3 new apartments and have had my first 5 jobs! (Two of which I quit shortly after… :P) I’ve had my hair chopped, grown out, and chopped again (Growing it out again…) and watched my younger siblings grow up. :,) So much more to look forward too!

Even better I have a husband who I didn’t even know four years ago, and we have a precious dog–I love them both so much!! Needless to say, I am pretty happy about where my life has gone since 2007.

My husband and I celebrated our 11th wedding annivery last week. Since 2007, we’ve welcomed a second daughter to our family. It’s kinda cool how each version of our family has felt so right. First just the two of us, then three, now four.

On the decor side, our house has a brand new roof and fresh new paint job. So, same old house with a new look.
