Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). In September 2007, I was about to get married. These last few weeks of planning were wearing on me, since I was still traveling for work until two weeks before. Sleepless nights of questions floating in my head, will it rain? (outdoor weddings kinda need sunshine!) Will my cake turn out the way I want? Will everyone get their dance on? On September 29, we’ll celebrate four great years together…and the wedding day was perfect! September is a great month for anniversaries ;D

I had a 17 year old son living at home, filling out college applications, playing football, doing all the Senior year stuff, now here it is 2011 I have a 21 year old Senior in college who has a 3 month old baby of his own! In 2007 I was working in real estate in South Florida. I left in 2009 to get my MBA in Chicago which I finished in June. I just moved in with my boyfriend of four years into a pretty bare apartment in Washington DC. We’re both unemployed and job hunting and holding off on any big purchases till the income starts rolling in again. We went to West Elm on Saturday to get some ideas for later. My life is so different now! In 2007, I had just moved into a teeny 1 bedroom apartment in Chicago with my then boyfriend. Worked at the art museum on Michigan Ave. (dream job!), enjoying public transit, and trying not to step over each other and the cat in the small aparment.
Now, in 2011, we are married, expecting our first baby, and tyring to fix up our beloved (albeit severely run down) first house. Oh, and now I work for the state… much more boring, lol.
